About Evan
I have always lived in Nebraska and most of it has been in Ogallala, Nebraska. Currently, when I am not doing practice radio announcing at local sporting events, I post my predictions on my blog about which teams will win (or lose) each game for the National Football League, college football and National Basketball Association.
Ever since I graduated from college in May 2016, I have been working and I have been attending local sporting events in Ogallala, Nebraska, and I have been doing practice radio broadcasts of live baseball, football, volleyball and basketball games in which I record everything that I say on my laptop computer and my cell phone. I have attended and I have done practice radio broadcasts for both Junior Legion and Senior Legion Baseball Games every year/every summer since the start of June 2018 (with the exception of the years 2020 and 2023, when I did not attend any Legion Baseball Games). In the 2018-19 school year and the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years, I did my practice radio broadcasts for both middle school and high school football games, high school volleyball games and high school basketball games. I have been to many or most high school football, high school volleyball and high school basketball games in Ogallala during these two school years. In the 2023-24 school year, I also attended a few 8th grade middle school girls' volleyball and basketball games. After these sporting events, I also do postgame interviews with players or athletes for both teams (not just for one team)! I have easily been to over 50 games total for all sports combined at this point. I have probably been to almost 100 games total for all sports combined (if I haven't already surpassed that total at this point) as of January 5th, 2024.
I have been to so many games that I don't have anymore room to store all of my recordings for games and interviews on just my computer! I also have recordings (and everything else I want saved) on multiple 32 GB flash drives! So I think February 2023 (right now) is definitely the right time for someone in the radio broadcasting business to please hire me very soon! I am ready to go and ready to work!
I really want to be a baseball broadcaster so I really hope baseball employers take my job application a lot more seriously than they normally would! As of February 16th, 2023, I haven't had a single paid broadcasting job or internship in my entire life yet. I have been out of college for almost seven (7) years now. If you are a baseball broadcasting employer, I don't care whether or not you think I need experience with Adobe InDesign. I cannot take Adobe InDesign seriously until someone gives me a job or actually forces me to use Adobe InDesign and I still don't feel like I have been forced to use Adobe InDesign yet even after applying for baseball broadcasting jobs...Sorry! How much more do I actually need to prove to any employer out there? How much? This is a serious question that must be answered! I really don't believe I really need to prove anything else to anybody. So I am qualified for the job! So please hire me already! Please! I am absolutely tired of people and employers not even giving me a chance! Let me show you what I can do, because you definitely will not be disappointed when I really get going (and that's a promise)!
I attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Nebraska, for two years where I earned my Associate of Arts Degree in May 2012. I then transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I majored in broadcasting and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in May 2016. While at UNL, I founded and co-hosted my own sports talk radio show, “Focus (Sports Talk Radio).” I have also contributed to two UNL student produced TV shows: Star City News and Andersen Sports Live.
Before college, I became an Eagle Scout on May 8th, 2010. My Eagle Scout Project was a prescription drugs collection site. My hobbies include distance running; playing baseball, basketball and football for fun; and watching sports on television or listening to sports on the radio. I have also been a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
