The Colorado Rockies (13-16, 5 GB NL West) lost 5-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers (16-14, 3 GB NL Central) last night.

The Rockies offense was pathetic with just four hits and the only run came on an RBI single by David Dahl in which Daniel Murphy scored.

For the Brewers, Jesus Aguilar hit a three-run home run in the first inning (scoring Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun as well) followed by a solo shot in the third inning.

Orlando Arcia had an RBI single four batters after Aguilar’s bomb in the first inning, scoring Mike Moustakas.

The Brewers had eight hits.

Zach Davies (3-0, 1.38 ERA) picked up the win for the Brewers while Kyle Freeland (2-4, 4.81 ERA) took the loss for the Rockies.

Davies gave up an unearned run in 5 1/3 innings pitched while Freeland allowed five runs and pitched six innings.

The starting pitcher tonight for the Milwaukee Brewers, Jhoulys Chacin (2-3, 6.35 ERA), the former Rockie, has given up 20 runs and 20 earned runs in 28 1/3 innings pitched.

The Brewers are 2-4 in his six starts this season. In his last start, he pitched just four innings and gave up four runs.

Chacin’s true run average won-lost record is 1.185 wins and 2.657 losses for a 6.27 true RA.

His pitching performance this season (regardless if the Brewers win or not) is 3 wins and 3 losses.

Looking at that more closely, Chacin’s pitching performance has resulted in 3.269 wins and 3.990 losses for a .450 percentage.

Tonight’s starting pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, German Marquez (3-1, 2.54 ERA) has given up 11 runs and 11 earned runs in 39 innings pitched so far this season.

The Rockies are 5-1 in his starts six starts this season. In his last start, he pitched seven innings and gave up just three runs.

Marquez’s true run average won-lost record is 3.497 wins and 1.314 losses for a 2.54 true RA.

His pitching performance this season (regardless if the Rockies win or not) is 3 wins and 3 losses.

A closer look at Marquez’s pitching performance has resulted in 4.053 wins and 2.981 losses for a .576 percentage.

The starters I trust for the Rockies are German Marquez, Jon Gray and Antonio Senzatela. Kyle Freeland would be next after that.

The relievers I trust for the Rockies are Bryan Shaw, Jake McGee (injured), Scott Oberg and Wade Davis. Harrison Musgrave, Carlos Estevez and DJ Johnson would be next after that.
