Baseball: Broken Bow Seniors defeat Ogallala on Sunday, May 24th, 2026

The Broken Bow Senior Legion baseball team defeated the Ogallala Adams Bank & Trust Seniors by a final score of 17-2 at the Ogallala American Legion Field in Ogallala, Nebraska on Sunday, May 24th, 2026.
Broken Bow had at least seven people score at least two (or more) runs. Every Broken Bow player who got a plate appearance got a hit on Sunday.
Kanzas Kellum scored three runs as he went 1 for 3 with a single and two walks and one RBI.
Broken Bow's Jackson Hall pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up two runs, two earned runs, four hits, two walks and just two strikeouts!
Levi Nolt went 1 for 2 with a double, a stolen base and the only run batted in of the game for Ogallala.
In the top of the first inning, Dominic Nowak popped out to the center fielder in left center field on a terrific catch by Daniel Dowdy!
Kanzas Kellum then walked and stole second base.
Drew Ellis struck out looking and Jackson Hall got hit by a pitch.
Kellum stole third base and Hall stole second base.
Then, Carter Hall hit a baseball that the first baseman eventually couldn't field and the Ogallala third baseman also made a throwing error and two runs scored on the play, with Carter advancing to second base.
Kayden Record then singled and Caenyn Priest struck out swinging.
Broken Bow left two people on-base in the inning and they led 2-0.
In the bottom of the first inning, Ogallala's Tai Le hit a flyout to right center field to Colton Uhlig. Daniel Dowdy grounded out to first baseman Drew Ellis unassisted.
Jackson Saner walked and Luke Minster singled to the third baseman.
Keegan Florom hit a grounder back to the pitcher and Ogallala was scoreless in the bottom of the first inning.
In the top of the second inning, Ogallala's starting pitcher Jackson Saner pitched much better as he gave up zero hits in the inning.
Xach Lowry grounded out to second baseman Keegan Florom.
Then, Colton Uhlig struck out swinging.
Dominic Nowak walked and Kanzas Kellum flied out to left fielder Jonah Saner.
In the bottom of the second inning, Levi Nolt grounded out to the second baseman.
Then, Preston Runge grounded out on a bunt back to the pitcher as the pitcher threw fast.
Joey Kupper doubled and then advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Jonah Saner lined out to second baseman Kanzas Kellum on a weak line drive.
To start the top of the third inning, Drew Ellis doubled on a line drive.
Then, Jackson Hall singled and Ellis advanced to third base.
After a stolen base by Jackson Hall, Carter Hall had an RBI groundout to the Ogallala shortstop Tai Le in which Jackson moved to third base (from second base) on the play.
That was all for Ogallala's Jackson Saner as he pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up three runs, one earned run, three hits, two walks, one hit batter and three strikeouts.
Tai Le entered the game for Ogallala and struck out Kayden Record swinging and Caenyn Priest looking!
Broken Bow only led 3-0 at that point.
In the bottom of the third inning, Tai Le grounded out to third and Daniel Dowdy popped out to the pitcher Jackson Hall on the fair/foul line on the first base side.
Jackson Saner then lined out to right fielder Caenyn Priest and Ogallala didn't get a baserunner on-base in the inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Xach Lowry doubled to left center field.
Colton Uhlig then walked.
Lowry then got picked off of second base, pitcher Tai Le to shortstop Keegan Florom.
Colton Uhlig then scored on an infield single to center field on a hit by Dominic Nowak.
Broken Bow 4, Ogallala 0. 1 OUT.
Kanzas Kellum then singled to left field.
Drew Ellis walked and Jackson Hall singled to left field scoring both Nowak and Kellum.
Carter Hall then singled scoring Drew Ellis from second base. Jackson Hall advanced to third base on the throw to try to get Ellis out at home while Carter Hall advanced to second base.
Broken Bow 7, Ogallala 0. 1 OUT.
Kayden Record then walked to load the bases.
Caenyn Priest singled to the second baseman on the right field side, Jackson Hall scored, Carter Hall advanced to third, and Queston Young who courtesy ran (pinch ran) for Kayden Record advanced to second base.
Xach Lowry then singled home Carter Hall, while Queston Young who courtesy ran (pinch ran) for Kayden Record advanced to third base and Caenyn Priest advanced to second base.
Tai Le was finished on the mound for Ogallala at that point. He pitched one-plus innings giving up nine runs, nine earned runs, seven hits, three walks and two strikeouts.
Jonah Saner then came in to pitch for Ogallala.
Colton Uhlig then tripled home three runs and Broken Bow led 12-0.
Dominic Nowak walked and advanced to second base on a defensive indifference stolen base.
Kanzas Kellum then walked to load the bases.
Then, Drew Ellis lined out to left fielder Jackson Saner.
Colton Uhlig then scored on a passed ball, while Dominic Nowak advanced to third base and then also came home on the throwing error by the catcher Luke Minster. Kanzas Kellum advanced to second base on the play.
Jackson Hall singled scoring Kellum.
Carter Hall then flew out to center fielder Daniel Dowdy and that was the end of the inning.
Broken Bow scored 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. They recorded nine hits and left one runner on-base. Ogallala had just one defensive error in the inning.
Ogallala's Jonah Saner pitched two-thirds of an inning giving up three runs, zero earned runs, two hits, two walks and zero strikeouts.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Luke Minster walked, Keegan Florom hit the baseball to left field and Levi Nolt hit an RBI double to drive in both Minster.
With Preston Runge batting, Keegan Florom scored on a stolen base attempt while Levi Nolt advanced to third on the play.
Ogallala trailed 15 to 2 at that point of the game.
Preston Runge and Joey Kupper struck out swinging and Jonah Saner grounded out to the shortstop.
In the top of the fifth inning, Kayden Record walked and Queston Young courtesy ran (pinch ran) for him.
Caenyn Priest doubled to right center field and Young scored on the play and Broken Bow led 16-2.
Zach Lowry grounded out to third baseman Keegan Florom, with Priest advancing to third base on the play.
Colton Uhlig hit a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Priest and Broken Bow led 17 to 2 at that point.
Dominic Nowak got hit by a pitch and then he advanced to second base on a wild pitch and he advanced to third base on a stolen base attempt.
Kanzas Kellum then lined out to the third baseman Keegan Florom to end the top half of the inning.
Ogallala's Levi Nolt pitched one inning (the top of the fifth inning) giving up two runs, two earned runs, one hit, one walk, one hit batter and zero strikeouts.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, it was another 1-2-3 inning for Broken Bow on defense.
Ogallala's Tai Le lined out to third base.
Daniel Dowdy grounded out to the first baseman unassisted again for the second time in the game, and Jackson Saner struck out swinging to end the game.
Broken Bow won by a final score of 17 to 2.
Broken Bow improved to 1-0 on the season. They scored 17 runs, had 13 hits, just six people left on-base and committed zero defensive errors.
Colton Uhlig went 1 for 2 with a triple, a walk, two runs scored and four RBI's!
Jackson Hall scored two runs and he went 3 for 3 with three singles and he had three RBI's!
Caenyn Priest went 2 for 4 with a single and a double, two runs scored and two RBI's.
Carter Hall went 1 for 4 with a single, one run scored and two RBI's.
Xach Lowry went 2 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI. He had one single and one double.
Dominic Nowak went 1 for 2 with a single, two walks and he got hit by the pitch and he scored two runs.
Drew Ellis went 1 for 2 with a double and two runs scored.
Kayden Record went 1 for 2 with a single and two walks. Queston Young scored two runs for Kayden Record.
Colton Uhlig pitched the final two-thirds of an inning for Broken Bow. He gave up zero runs, zero earned runs, zero hits, zero walks and struck out one batter.
Broken Bow is currently 2-4 at the Senior Legion level on June 3rd, 2026 as I am writing this story. Broken Bow has a game tonight on June 3rd, 2026.
They won at McCook 18-7 on Monday, May 25th.
Broken Bow has scored just eight runs and they have given up 40 runs in their last four games, all losses.
Broken Bow plays Valentine on June 5th, Overton on June 6th and St. Paul on June 7th.
Ogallala dropped to 0-1 at home in the regular season.
Luke Minster got on-base twice for Ogallala, the only player to do so. He went 1 for 1 with a single and a walk and he scored one run.
Keegan Florom went 1 for 2 with a single and a stolen base. He also scored one run.
Joey Kupper went 1 for 2 with a double.
Jackson Saner went 0 for 2 with a walk.
Ogallala had two players who went 0 for 3 and three players who went 0 for 2.
Ogallala scored two runs, had four hits and left four people on-base with three of those four left on-base happening in the first two innings. Ogallala committed three defensive errors.
Ogallala is 1-3 on the season at the Senior Legion level. Ogallala's only win was their only away game on May 30th, a 19-12 win over the Security First Regulators from Rushville.
Ogallala's next home game will be against Holdrege on Saturday, June 6th, 2026. The Senior Legion game will be after the Junior Legion game which starts at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
The Adams Bank & Trust team will also play again on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, at home against Minden. Again, the Senior Legion game will be after the Junior Legion game which starts at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
Ogallala will also have Senior Legion home games against Kearney at 4:30 p.m. on June 11th and also against Chadron on the same day at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time (about 20 minutes after the game against Kearney at least).
The Ogallala Junior Legion baseball team's next game will be at Lexington on June 5th, a Junior doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time.
Ogallala will also have a Junior and a Senior Legion game at Loomis with game one starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, June 9th.
Ogallala will have two games at Gothenburg on Wednesday, June 10th. Game one will feature the Ogallala Prep team (the team below the Junior Legion level) at 4:30 p.m. Central Time while game two will be a Junior Legion game at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.
