Baseball: Ogallala Seniors fall to North Platte on Monday, July 6th, 2026; Ogallala to play at home against Sidney on July 17th

The North Platte Great Plains Health Senior Legion Post 163 Baseball team defeated the Ogallala Adams Bank & Trust Senior Legion Baseball team 15 to 2 on Monday, July 6th, 2026, at the Ogallala American Legion Field in Ogallala, Nebraska.


North Platte is now 15-11 on the season according to Gamechanger.com. Ogallala is now 4-16 on the season according to Gamechanger.com.


Ogallala's next game for Senior Legion Baseball will be their home finale, a Senior Legion only doubleheader against Sidney on Friday, July 17th, 2026. The first game is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time.


Ogallala will then play at Broken Bow on Saturday, July 18th, at 1 p.m. Central (I believe) and it will only be one game and then at Gering for a Senior Legion only doubleheader on Sunday, July 19th, at 1 p.m. Mountain Time (I believe).


Ogallala will then wrap up their season at the Area Tournament from July 24th through 28th in Sidney before the State Tournament happens sometime after those dates.


Maddux Hernandez pitched three innings and gave up only one run (one earned run) for North Platte. He gave up just two hits and struck out just one.


Jace Hammond pitched the final two innings for North Platte giving up zero hits, one run, zero earned runs, four walks and just two strikeouts.


For Ogallala offensively, Tai Le reached base all three times, scored both runs for Ogallala, stole home plate, walked twice and officially finished 0 for 1 at the plate. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Jackson Saner reached base all three times, went 1 for 2 with an RBI single to right center field and a walk. He advanced his teammates three bases.


North Platte finished with fifteen runs, fourteen hits, seven people left on-base and four defensive errors.


Ogallala finished with two runs, two hits, six people left on-base and five defensive errors.


To start the top of the first inning, Jackson Saner struck out the first two North Platte batters looking, Conner Stiffler and Ty Haneborg.


Dein McEntire then singled to right field. Shane Simmons then courtesy ran for McEntire.


Simmons advanced to third base on a single on a ground ball by Koby Simants to the shortstop which I believe went into left field.


Jobi Silos then had an RBI single to center field on a ground ball scoring Simmons and advancing Simants to third base.


Jacoby Janas then grounded out to Ogallala shortstop Tai Le to first baseman Levi Nolt to end the inning.


To start the bottom of the first inning, Ogallala's Tai Le walked and advanced to second base on a Jonah Saner sacrifice bunt to the catcher.


After a wild pitch by North Platte's Maddux Hernandez, Tai Le scored on an RBI single to right center field by Ogallala's Jackson Saner and the game was tied at one at that point.


Jackson Saner then got picked off at first base, North Platte catcher Dein McEntire to first baseman Jobi Silos.


Levi Nolt then hit an infield single to the shortstop between the third baseman and the shortstop I believe.


Keegan Florom then hit a fly ball to left fielder Dakota Bandy and the game was tied at one apiece after one inning.


To start the top of the second inning, Tommy Hagert singled for North Platte.


Then, Landon Polk struck out and Jackson Saner recorded his third strikeout of the game.


Maddux Hernandez then popped out to the second baseman Jonah Saner.


Conner Stiffer then grounded out to Jonah Saner at second base and the score was tied at one after 1 1/2 innings.


To start the bottom of the second inning, Luke Minster walked.


Preston Runge then hit a ground ball back to North Platte pitcher Maddux Hernandez who threw to second baseman Jacoby Janas to force out Minster at second base.


Runge then was caught stealing North Platte catcher Dein McEntire to shortstop Ty Haneborg.


Daniel Dowdy then struck out swinging to end the inning.


To start the top of the third inning, Ty Haneborg singled. He advanced on a throwing error by pitcher Jackson Saner on a pickoff attempt and was awarded third base as the baseball went out of play.


Dein McEntire singled to right center field and Haneborg scored and North Platte led 2 to 1.


Shane Simmons courtesy ran again for McEntire and stole second base. Koby Simants walked.


Then, Simmons stole third base and Simants stole second base.


Jobi Silos then hit a two-run double on a grounder to left field, Simmons and Simants scored and North Platte led 4 to 1.


Jacoby Janas then doubled to left center field and Silos scored and North Platte led 5 to 1.


Tommy Hagert then reached base on a throwing error by the Ogallala first baseman Levi Nolt as the pitcher and the second baseman were trying to cover first base for the force out and Nolt didn't really throw the baseball to either of them. Janas scored on the play and Tommy Hagert made it to second base.


North Platte 6, Ogallala 1.


Landon Polk then tripled to left center field, Hagert scored easily and North Platte led 7 to 1.


Jackson Saner was done pitching at that point for Ogallala as he pitched two-plus innings giving up nine hits, seven runs, one walk and three strikeouts when he was removed from the game as a pitcher.


Tai Le came into pitched and got Maddux Hernandez to pop up to Le for the second out of the inning.


North Platte 7, Ogallala 1. One out in the top of the third inning.


Conner Stiffler reached based on a throwing error by shortstop Jonah Saner and Landon Polk scored on the play. Stiffler then advanced to second base on a wild pitch.


Stiffler then got thrown out at third base, Ogallala catcher Keegan Florom to third baseman Levi Nolt.


Two outs. North Platte 8, Ogallala 1.


Ty Haneborg then singled to left field for his second hit of the inning. He then stole second base.


Dein McEntire singled to left field for his second hit of the inning as well! Haneborg scored and North Platte led 9 to 1.


Shane Simmons again courtesy ran for McEntire and then stole second base.


Koby Simants then grounded out second baseman Porter Tjaden to first baseman Daniel Dowdy.


North Platte 9, Ogallala 1.


Jackson Saner allowed 7 runs officially in the third inning alone and gave up eight runs total on the pitching mound on Monday.


Tai Le gave up just one run in the third inning on Monday.


In the bottom of the third inning, Porter Tjaden grounded out Conner Stiffler to first baseman Jobi Silos.


Tai Le then reached base on a fielding error by third baseman Conner Stiffler on a play that arguably could be a base hit.


Jonah Saner then reached base on a fielder's choice third baseman Conner Stiffler to second baseman Jacoby Janas and Tai Le was forced out at second base.


Jackson Saner then reached on a fielding error by Ty Haneborg.


Jonah and Jackson then each moved up a base to third base and second base respectively on a passed ball.


Levi Nolt then flied out to left fielder Dakota Bandy and Ogallala trield 9 to 1 after three innings.


To start the fourth inning, Jobi Silos walked and advanced to second base as Jacoby Janas got hit by a pitch.


Silos and Janas each moved up a base on the wild pitch or stolen base.


Tommy Hagert then had a two run double to right-center field and North Platte led 11 to 1 at that point.


Landon Polk then had an infield single and Hagert moved to third base.


Jace Hammond then singled to the shorstop, Hagert scored and Polk moved to second base.


North Platte 12, Ogallala 1.


Conner Stiffler then got hit by a pitch and the bases were loaded with zero outs in the top of the fourth inning.


Ty Haneborg then hit a sacrifice fly to center fielder Jackson Saner. Landon Polk scored as a result and Jace Hammond advanced to third base. One out.


North Platte 13, Ogallala 1.


Dein McEntire grounded out third baseman Levi Nolt to Daniel Dowdy for the second out of the inning. Conner Stiffer advanced to second base on the play.


Jace Hammond scored on a wild pitch and Conner Stiffler advanced to third base on the same play.


North Platte Platte 14, Ogallala 1.


Then, Dakota Bandy popped out to the Ogallala second baseman Porter Tjaden to end the inning.


Tai Le was done pitching after two innings as he gave up five hits, six runs, two hit batters, one walk and zero strikeouts.


To start the bottom of the fourth inning, Keegan Florom popped out to the North Platte third baseman.


Luke Minster then walked and stole second base.


Preston Runge then popped out to the North Platte third baseman as well for the second out of the inning.


Daniel Dowdy then walked.


Porter Tjaden then flied out to center fielder Tommy Hagert to end the fourth inning.


Levi Nolt came on to pitch for Ogallala to start the top of the fifth inning.


Cade Freeze lined out to Ogallala left fielder Preston Runge.


Levi Charter then got hit by a pitch. He advanced to second base on the throwing error by the pitcher Levi Nolt on a pickoff attempt and was awarded third base as the baseball went out of play on the first base side.


Tommy Hagert then walked.


Levi Nolt then balked, Charter scored as a result and Hagert advanced to second base.


North Platte 15, Ogallala 1.


Landon Polk then walked for North Platte and Jace Hammond struck out swinging.


Hagert advanced to third base while Polk advanced to second base on a passed ball.


Shane Simmons then hit a ground ball to the Ogallala shortstop Tai Le to first baseman Daniel Dowdy.


Levi Nolt pitched one inning giving up zero hits, one run, zero earned runs, one hit batter, two walks and one strikeout.


In the bottom of the fifth inning, Tai Le walked on five pitches. Then, Jonah Saner struck out looking.


Jackson Saner then walked.


Tai Le then advanced to third base on a throwing error by first baseman Cade Freeze.


Jackson Saner then attempted to steal second base and was caught stealing, North Platte catch Dein McEntire to shorstop Ty Haneborg.


Tai Le then came home to score on a delayed steal and Ogallala trailed 15 to 2 at that point.


Levi Nolt then reached base on a throwing error by the North Platte third baseman and Nolt made it to second base.


Nolt then stole third base.


Mason Minster then struck out looking on a full count pitch to end the game and North Platte won by a final score of 15 to 2!


For North Platte on offense, Conner Stiffler, reached base twice, went 0 for 3 and got hit by a pitch once. He advanced his teammates three bases and one run scored as a result of his batting, but no RBI is being given credit to him.


Shane Simmons didn't reach base and went 0 for 1. He advanced his teammates zero bases. He also scored two runs for Dein McEntire as a courtesy runner.


Ty Haneborg reached base twice, was 2 for 3 with two runs scored. He had two singles and one sacrifice fly RBI. He advanced his teammates a total of two bases.


Dein McEntire reached base three times, he went 3 for 4 with three singles and he had two RBI's. He advanced his teammate Ty Haneborg a total of three bases and Haneborg needed all of those bases to score both times.


Koby Simants went 1 for 2 with a walk and one run scored. He advanced his teammate Shane Simmons two bases who as I have already mentioned, scored for Dein McEntire in the first inning.


Dakota Bandy reached base zero times and he went 0 for 1. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Jobi Silos reached base all three times, he singled, doubled and walked and he was 2 for 2 with two runs scored. He had three RBI's. He advanced his teammates a total of six bases.


Cade Freeze reached base zero times and he went 0 for 1. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Jacoby Janas reached base twice, he went 1 for 2 with two runs scored and he had one RBI. He advanced his teammates a total of three bases and his team eventually scored two runs as a result.


Levi Charter reached base one out of one times on a hit by pitch, he went 0 for 0 officially, and he scored one run. He advanced his teammates a total of zero bases.


Tommy Hagert reached base all four times. He went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. He singled once and doubled once. He advanced his teammates a total of five bases and three runs scored as a direct result of his batting.


Landon Polk reached base three times. He went 2 for 3 with a triple and a single and one RBI. He also walked once. He advanced his teammate Tommy Hagert a total of three bases and Hagert scored once as a direct result of Polk's batting and Hagert scored twice eventually because of Polk's batting.


Maddux Hernandez reached base zero times and he went 0 for 2 with two popouts. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Jace Hammond reached base once and went 1 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI. He had a single and advanced his teammates a total of two bases and two runs eventually scored as a result of Hammond's batting.


For Ogallala on offense, Jonah Saner reached base once and was 0 for 2 officially. He advanced his teammates one base.


Levi Nolt reached base twice and was 1 for 3 officially and he stole one base. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Luke Minster walked twice and stole one base. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Daniel Dowdy reached base once, he went 0 for 1 officially and he walked once. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Preston Runge reached base once and went 0 for 2 officially. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Keegan Florom and Porter Tjaden each went 0 for 2 officially. They each advanced their teammates zero bases.


Mason Minster went 0 for 1 officially. He advanced his teammates zero bases.


Ogallala's Adams Insurance Advisors Junior Legion baseball team will be at the Area Tournament this weekend in Minden from Friday, July 10th through Tuesday, July 14th.
