Boys' BB: Ogallala defeats McCook in Boys' Varsity Basketball

The Ogallala Indians High School Boys' Varsity basketball team defeated the McCook Bison 74 to 56 on Friday night, February 7th, 2025, at the Steve Morgan Court in the Prairie View Gymnasium on Ogallala, Nebraska.
McCook's Trey Tiller and Kooper Rakes each scored 12 points. Rakes made eight free throws while Tiller made four threes!
Ogallala's Sawyer Smith led all scorers on both teams with 26 points including a rampage in which he scored a lot of points in the fourth quarter. Smith made just one three-pointer and one free throw.
McCook is now 13th in Class B according to the NSAA at 13-6 and has 42.0256 points.
Ogallala is now 1st in Class C-1 according to the NSAA at 18-1 and has 46.36.84 points.
Ogallala led 15 to 7 with 3:34 left in the 1st quarter.
McCook trailed 24 to 10 after one quarter.
Ogallala led 33 to 10 with 4:01 left in the second period and they also led 42 to 21 at halftime.
McCook trailed 52 to 28 with 3:07 left in the third and 62 to 31 at the end of the third period.
Ogallala won 74 to 56.
McCook's Tripp Raile scored 10 points including two threes and four free throws.
Brody Graham made two threes and totaled eight points.
Andrew Pochop also scored eight points and made all of his baskets for two points each.
Jon Patel scored four points and made two two-pointers.
Ogallala's Edan Cain scored 15 points. He made two three-pointers and one free throw.
Rylan Gilmore scored 11 and made three threes.
Tanner DeCastro scored nine points including a three-pointer.
Lincoln Gillen scored five points including a three-pointer. He also made a two-point shot.
Jacob Fanning and Cy Lowery scored four points each all from two-point range.
McCook hosts Alliance on February 8th (today), while Ogallala travels to Broken Bow today.
