Broken Bow Varsity Football defeats Ogallala 28 to 0 on Friday night, September 4th, 2026

The Ogallala Indians High School Varsity football team couldn't put any points on the scoreboard for the second straight week of the 2026-27 season.

Ogallala limited Broken Bow to just seven points in the first three quarters.

The Broken Bow Indians won over the Ogallala Indians at the Ogallala High School football field in Ogallala, Nebraska, 28 to 0 on Friday afternoon/evening on September 4th, 2026.

The first half was entirely in the sunshine with a 6:00 p.m. local start time and the sunlight coming from the west.

Zachary Jackson scored three rushing touchdowns for Broken Bow and Cole Helleberg also scored a rushing touchdown for Broken Bow.

Blaze Behrens made all four points-after-touchdown for Broken Bow.

Broken Bow had three interceptions in the game coming from Zachary Jackson, Adrian Gibbons and Cooper White.

Ogallala's offense just couldn't sustain drives throughout the game.

To start the game, Ogallala went three-and-out and punted.

Broken Bow also went three-and-out and had a bad punt that almost helped them if it would have hit off of an Ogallala football player, Broken Bow possibly could have gotten the football back and got a first down!

Instead, Ogallala took over and had a nice drive that took five minutes off of the game clock and got the football down to the Broken Bow five-yard line.

On fourth down, Ogallala was going to go for it, but they decided to call timeout at the last second.

Then, Ogallala attempted a field goal and it got blocked by Gunner Baltz and a few other Broken Bow players.

Broken Bow then took over with less than 2:23 left in the first quarter.

Broken Bow then had a drive that lasted over seven minutes of game time and Zachary Jackson scored from 17 yards out to give the Indians a 6 to 0 lead.

Blaze Behrens made the extra point.

Ogallala then put together another long drive, but Jacoby Bauer then threw an interception to Zachary Jackson and Broken Bow took over at their own 33-yard line.

Broken Bow then took over with 2:16 left in the second quarter. They got the football down to the Ogallala nine-yard line, but they wasted a lot of time before the last snap and the last snap probably shouldn't have happened anyway because time expired.

Broken Bow was called for a penalty to end the first half.

Broken Bow led Ogallala 7 to 0 at halftime.

Broken Bow's Cash Kleeb was 3 for 4 throwing the football for 64 yards in the first half.

Ogallala's Jacoby Bauer was 8 for 12 throwing the football for 94 yards and one interception in the first half.

Broken Bow was on offense to start the second half and Carson Green recorded a sack for Ogallala.

Broken Bow then was forced to punt.

Ogallala then got the football to their own 45 yard-line, but a holding penalty and an illegal formation destroyed the momentum.

Ogallala then went for it on fourth down and came up short.

Broken Bow then ran a few plays and that was the end of the third quarter.

Broken Bow 7, Ogallala 0.

Zachary Jackson then ran to the left into the west end zone from 27 1/2 yards out and Broken Bow led 14 to 0 after the point-after-touchdown.

Ogallala then went three-and-out and Dexter Franzen blocked Ogallala's punt and celebrated a little too soon by putting his hands in the air and looking at the Broken Bow crowd in the south seats! He will have that story to tell to everyone for the rest of his life!

Fortunately for Broken Bow, the Ogallala punter put his body on the football and Broken Bow took over at the Ogallala 22-yard line because of the turnover on downs.

Zach Jackson then scored another touchdown running right from nine yards out.

After the point-after-touchdown, Broken Bow led 21 to 0.

After a completion by Jacoby Bauer to Rhys Gilmore from the Ogallala 33 to the Broken Bow 48, on the next play, Adrian Gibbons intercepted Bauer and returned the football to the Broken Bow 43.

Cole Helleberg scored a touchdown from ten yards out for Broken Bow.

Broken Bow then led after the extra point from Blaze Behrens 28 to 0.

On the third offensive play of the drive, Ogallala's Jacoby Bauer gave the football to Easton Mitchell who threw an interception to Broken Bow's Cooper White at about the Broken Bow 13-yard line.

Broken Bow then ran out the clock and actually they had to convert a fourth down play (which they did) and that was the final play of the game.

Broken Bow is now 1-1 on the season. They play vs. Chadron on September 11th and then they are at Cozad on September 18th and at Kearney Catholic on September 25th.

Ogallala is 0-2 on the season. They are at Chase County on September 11th and then they host Gothenburg on September 18th and they are also host Hershey on September 25th.
