Chadron Girls' defeat Chase County in High School Varsity Basketball at C1-10 Subdistrict Tournament in Ogallala, Nebraska, on Monday, February 16th, 2026; Chadron to play Ogallala on February 17th

The #4 ranked Chadron Cardinals defeated the #5 ranked Chase County Longhorns by a final score of 51-40 in the C1-10 Subdistrict Tournament on the Steve Morgan Court at the Prairie View Gymnasium in Ogallala, Nebraska, on Monday, February 16th, 2026.

Avery Beemer scored 12 points for Chase County. She made two free throws.

Jezreel Alcorn scored 16 points for Chadron. She made one three-pointer and five free throws.

Chase County led 9-3 with 2:28 to go left in the first quarter.

The Longhorns led 16-12 after one quarter.

Jacey Turman made a two-pointer and Chadron led 18-16 with 6:24 to go in the second quarter.

Chadron led 29-25 after two quarters.

Chase County trailed 32-29 with 4:26 left in the third quarter and 35-31 with 50.9 seconds remaining in quarter number three.

The Cardinals maintained a 37-31 lead after three quarters.

Chase County cut the deficit to five at 41-36 with 5:30 to go in the fourth quarter.

Chadron led 46-40 with 3:05 to go in the fourth quarter.

The Cardinals made three free throws at the end of the game and Chadron won 51-40.

Chase County fell to a won-lost record of 8-16.

Chadron improved to 16-9 this season.

The Cardinals will play Ogallala at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time again on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, again at Prairie View.

Whoever wins that game will play at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, at Prairie View.

For Chase County, Amelia Fries scored nine points. She made one three-pointer.

Karlie Anderson scored eight points. She made two threes and two free throws.

Aria McNair scored four points from two two-pointers.

Anna Aragon made a three-pointer and totaled three points.

Miranda Spady and Alexandria Reeves each scored two points.

For Chadron, Rylan Barry scored 13 points. She made one three-pointer!

Jacey Turman totaled six points. She made two free throws.

Gracie Calkins scored five points. She made three free throws.

Harper Watson also scored five points. She made two free throws and one three-pointer!

Thaivunh Sayaloune and Reese Ritterbush each scored three points.
