Countdown to Kickoff: NFL Regular Season Week 2 (Less than 64 days away)

(Editor's Note: With less than 22 days now until the first game of the National Football League preseason, it is now time to begin the countdown to kickoff of the 2022-2023 NFL season. As of Saturday, July 9th, 2022, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, each day for the next 26 days, I will write a story featuring each matchup for that week’s scheduled NFL games. The goal of writing these stories is to try to determine who is going to win each game of the 2022-2023 NFL preseason, regular season and postseason based on previous matchups each team has played against each other. Each day, each story I write, the hypothetical standings will be updated to reflect what may actually happen in the 2022-2023 NFL season. I may also offer my predictions on who will win each game. I reserve the right to change my predictions before the first game of each week. However, my real goal is to publish all of my predictions of the 2022-2023 NFL season before the first preseason game starts. I want to do that, because I don't want to be making emotional decisions about my predictions at the last minute. I don't want to make my predictions at the last minute because I don't want to get my predictions wrong.)

In regular season Week 2, the most competitive matchup is supposed to be the Tennessee Titans at the Buffalo Bills.

The least competitive game is supposed to be the Carolina Panthers at the New York Giants.

The eighth-most competitive game of Week 2 based on the combined won-lost-tie winning percentages of the 2021-2022 NFL season is supposed to be the Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers game.

The ninth-most competitive game of Week 2 is supposed to be the Atlanta Falcons-Los Angeles Rams game.

The Seattle Seahawks-San Francisco 49ers game is ranked as the ninth-most competitive based on the combined won-lost-tie winning percentages of the 2021-2022 preseason and regular season. For that scenario, the Falcons-Rams game is ranked the tenth-most competitive.

Based on the preseason/regular season/postseason combined winning percentage from the 2021-2022 season, the Los Angeles Chargers-Kansas City Chiefs game is supposed to be the second-most competitive matchup followed by the New England Patriots-Pittsburgh Steelers (3rd-most competitive), Tampa Bay Buccaneers-New Orleans Saints (4th-most competitive), and then the Arizona Cardinals-Las Vegas Raiders (5th-most competitive).

The sixth-most competitive game is supposed to be Cincinnati Bengals-Dallas Cowboys followed by the Miami Dolphins-Baltimore Ravens.

The New York Jets-Cleveland Browns is supposed to be the 11th-most competitive game followed by the Minnesota Vikings-Philadelphia Eagles Monday Night Football game.

The Indianapolis Colts-Jacksonville Jaguars game and the Houston Texans-Denver Broncos game is tied for the 13th and 14th most competitive games.

Finally, the Washington Commanders-Detroit Lions game is supposed to be the 15th-most competitive game.
