Girls' HS Wrestling: McCook wins two while Sidney wins one at Ogallala

The McCook Girls' High School wrestling team won each of their two dual matches against the Ogallala Indians and the Sidney Red Raiders in the Prairie View Gymnasium on the Steve Morgan Court in Ogallala, Nebraska, on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
The Sidney Red Raiders Girls' High School wrestling team also defeated the Ogallala Indians on Thursday.
McCook won against Ogallala 40-12 and 42-18 against Sidney.
Sidney won against Ogallala 42-18.
McCook wrestled against Ogallala first for Girls', then for Boys'. McCook then wrestled against Sidney first for Girls', then for Boys'. Sidney then wrestled against Ogallala, first for Girls', then for Boys.
McCook won seven head-to-head matchups total (regardless of whether or not they were opens/forfeits) and had four pins against Ogallala. McCook had one successful decision against Ogallala. Ogallala won two opens/forfeits and won zero pins.
McCook won seven head-to-head matchups total (regardless of whether or not they were opens/forfeits) and had five pins against Sidney. Sidney won three opens/forfeits and won zero pins.
Sidney won seven head-to-head matchups total (regardless of whether or not they were opens/forfeits) and had four pins against Ogallala.
Sidney won three opens/forfeits while Ogallala won two opens/forfeits and Ogallala's Tristan Hochstine also pinned her Sidney opponent in 35 seconds for the only non-open/forfeit of the day for Ogallala on the Girls' side.
McCook's Peyton Cock did the fastest wrestling by pinning her opponent in just 41 seconds and by also pinning her Sidney opponent in just 18 seconds.
Eden McPherson of McCook wasn't far behind as she pinned her Ogallala opponent in just 57 seconds and also by pinning her Sidney opponent in 1 minute and 7 seconds.
Meka Daub who also is from McCook pinned her Ogallala opponent in 1 minute 8 seconds and also pinned her Sidney opponent in 2 minutes and 36 seconds.
So those are your top three Most Valuable Wrestlers for the Girls' side of things in Ogallala, as they were the only three wrestlers on the Girls' side of things who actually had to wrestle twice.
McCook's Kaylee Hunter and Kayleigh Steinbeck won against Sidney and they also won by simply showing up against Ogallala. McCook's Maria Rodriguez-Hernandez actually won against Ogallala and she also won by simply showing up against McCook.
Sidney's Jadyn Lee and Saphira Whitley actually wrestled against Ogallala and won and also won simply by showing up against McCook.
I don't know for sure, but I believe McCook's Alexis Steinbeck won 16-4 via MD at 135 pounds against Ogallala. Alexis Steinbeck also won simply by showing up against Sidney. But I can say for sure that Alexis Steinbeck didn't lose any of her wrestling matches she participated in on Thursday!
Sidney's Ravyn Lee and Ogallala's Kaitlyn Freiberg won their two matches simply by showing up as they didn't have to really wrestle today on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
The next wrestling meet in Ogallala will be on Monday, January 6th, 2025, in which Bridgeport will face Ogallala.
