McCook Seniors defeat Ogallala on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026

The McCook Senior Legion Baseball team defeated the Ogallala Adams Bank & Trust Senior Legion Baseball team 14-1 on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, in game one of a Senior Legion doubleheader against McCook at the Ogallala American Legion Field in Ogallala, Nebraska.


For McCook, Kale Sattler went 1 for 1 with a triple, he walked twice, scored four runs and had one RBI.


For Ogallala, Jackson Saner went 0 for 2 with a walk, and he scored one run and stole two bases.


In the top of the first inning, McCook's Kooper Rakes got hit by a pitch. Then he stole second base.


Bryson Gullion doubled to right center field and Rakes scored on the play.


Abe Wilson singled on a bunt and Gullion advanced to third base.


Kale Sattler grounded out to the shortstop Tai Le who touched second base to force out Abe Wilson on a fielder's choice while Gullion scored on the play. Tai Le then made a throwing error on the same play and Sattler got on-base at least.


Cole Davidson then reached on a throwing error by Tai Le and advanced to second base while Sattler advanced to third base from first base.


Bo Schlegel grounded out to second baseman Keegan Florom to first baseman Preston Runge and Sattler scored from third and Davidson advanced to third base from second base.


Ty Junker then grounded out to the shortstop Tai Le to end the inning.


After half an inning, McCook led 3-0 with two hits and left one runner on-base. Ogallala had two errors in the inning.


In the bottom of the first inning, Tai Le doubled. Daniel Dowdy then grounded out to the pitcher Kooper Rakes and Le advanced to third base.


Jackson Saner walked.


Tai Le got thrown out at home on a 2-6-2 double steal play in which Jackson Saner stole second base and catcher Cole Block threw to shortstop Bryson Gullion and Gullion threw the baseball back to block.


Jackson Saner then stole third base and scored as a result of a throwing error by the catcher Cole Block on the stolen base attempt.


Luke Minster then struck out to end the inning.


Ogallala had one run, one hit and left zero people on-base. McCook had one defensive error.


In the top of the second inning, Cole Block struck out looking and Jaime Samaniego flied out to right fielder Joey Kupper.


Kooper Rakes tripled to right center field and Bryson Gullion hit a single to center field to drive in Rakes and McCook led 4-0 at that point.


Abe Wilson then grounded out to third baseman Levi Nolt to end the inning.


McCook had one run on two hits and left one man on-base while Ogallala on defense committed zero errors in the inning.


In the bottom of the second inning, it was a 1-2-3 inning for McCook on defense.


Keegan Florom flew out to right fielder Kale Sattler, Levi Nolt struck out looking and Preston Runge also flied out to right fielder Kale Sattler.


In the top of the third inning, Kale Sattler tripled. Cole Davidson popped out to shortstop Tai Le.


Then, Bo Schlegel got his second RBI of the game on a groundout to the second baseman Keegan Florom again.


Ty Junker then singled to right center field, stole second base and advanced to third base on a fielding error by the shortstop Tai Le which I assume was probably on a stolen base attempt.


Cole Block then struck out looking to end the inning.


McCook scored one run and got two hits and also left a person on-base for the second straight inning.


Ogallala committed at least one defensive error in the inning.


McCook led 5 to 1 at that point.


In the bottom of the third inning, Joey Kupper and Jonah Saner each walked for Ogallala.


Then, Tai Le popped out to the second baseman Ty Junker.


Kooper Rakes was done for the day at that point on the pitching mound for McCook.


Daniel Dowdy hit a sacrifice bunt to pitcher Abe Wilson and he threw to first baseman Bo Schlegel as Kupper advanced to third base and Jonah Saner advanced to second base.


Jackson Saner then grounded out to the new second baseman Cole Davidson to end the inning.


For McCook, Kooper Rakes threw 2 1/3 innings and gave up just one run, zero earned runs, one hit, three walks and at least two strikeouts.


Ogallala scored zero runs, had zero hits and left two people on-base in the inning and McCook had no defensive errors in the inning.


In the top of the fourth inning, Jaime Samaniego hit a grounder to shortstop Tai Le.


Kooper Rakes singled on a ground ball. Then, Bryson Gullion walked.


Rakes and Gullion then each advanced one base on a passed ball. Abe Wilson then singled to left center field, Rakes scored and Gullion advanced to third base.


Wilson then advanced to second base on a defensive indifference stolen base.


Kale Sattler then walked. Cole Davidson then singled on a ground ball to right field, Gullion scored, Wilson advanced to third base and Sattler advanced to second base.


McCook 6, Ogallala 1.


At that point of the game, Ogallala's starting pitcher Jackson Saner was done pitching for this game. Levi Nolt took over for Jackson Saner on the pitching mound.


Bo Schlegel struck out bunting for the second out of the inning. Ty Junker then hit a single in the infield. Cole Davidson advanced to second base, Kale Sattler advanced to third base and Abe Wilson scored.


Kale Sattler then scored on a wild pitch while Cole Davidson advanced to third base and Ty Junker advanced to second base and McCook led 8 to 1.


Cole Block then singled on a line drive, Cole Davidson scored and Ty Junker advanced to third base.


Ty Junker then scored on a throwing error by the pitcher Levi Nolt on a pickoff attempt at first base and Cole Block advanced to second base.


Jaime Samaniego singled, Cole Block scored and Samaniego advanced to second base on the throw home.


McCook 11, Ogallala 1.


Kooper Rakes then got hit by a pitch and he advanced to second base on a wild pitch while Jaime Samaniego advanced to third base on the same wild pitch.


Samaniego then scored on a fielding error by Ogallala pitcher Levi Nolt after Ogallala catcher Luke Minster couldn't catch Nolt's pitch to home plate.


Bryson Gullion then struck out looking to end the inning.


In the top of the fourth McCook scored eight runs on six hits, they left on person on-base.


Ogallala had two errors officially in the inning, but they had an additional error on a passed ball but that doesn't officially count as an error, so Ogallala technically had three errors in the top of the fourth inning.


Ogallala's Jackson Saner pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up 10 runs, 9 earned runs, nine hits, one walk, one hit batter and two strikeouts.


In the bottom of the fourth inning, Luke Minster singled for Ogallala and then stole second base.


Keegan Florom popped out to the first baseman Bo Schlegel.


Then, Minster advanced to third base on a wild pitch.


Levi Nolt popped out to center fielder Jaime Samaniego.


Porter Tjaden then pinch hit for Preston Runge and struck out swinging.


Ogallala had one hit in the inning and left on man on-base.


In the top of the fifth inning, Abe Wilson grounded out to second baseman Jonah Saner.


Kale Sattler then walked. Cole Davidson popped out to the first baseman Preston Runge (who re-entered the game).


Sattler then stole second base. He advanced to third base on a passed ball.


Bo Schlegel then walked. Kale Sattler then scored from third base and Bo Schlegel advanced to second base on a wild pitch.


McCook led 14 to 1 at that point.


Ty Junker then got hit by a pitch. Schlegel advanced to third base while Ty Junker advanced to second base on a wild pitch.


Cole Block then struck out swinging to end the inning.


McCook scored one run, recorded zero hits and left two people on-base. Ogallala committed zero official defensive errors but one mistake on a passed ball.


Levi Nolt pitched 1 2/3 innings for Ogallala giving up four runs, zero earned runs, three hits, two walks, two hit batters and three strikeouts.


In the bottom of the fifth inning, Joey Kupper grounded out to second baseman Cole Davidson.


Jonah Saner grounded out to third baseman Kooper Rakes.


Tai Le singled to the shortstop. Le then advanced to second base on a rare balk call near the end of the game with only one for McCook on defense to get.


Daniel Dowdy then got hit by a pitch.


Le then stole third base. Jackson Saner then struck out swinging.


Ogallala scored zero runs, had one hit in the inning and left two people on-base. McCook had zero defensive errors in the bottom of the fifth inning.


McCook won by a final score of 14 to 1.


Abe Wilson pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up zero runs, zero earned runs, two hits, zero walks, one hit batter, and two strikeouts.


McCook scored 14 runs, they had 12 hits, left six people on-base and committed one official error. McCook also had one additional mistake of a balk.


Bryson Gullion went 2 for 3 with a double and a single, he had one walk, he scored two runs and had two RBI's.


Kooper Rakes went 2 for 2, with a triple and a single, and he got hit by a pitch twice and he scored three runs.


Ty Junker went 2 for 3 with two singles, he got hit by the pitch once and he scored one run and had one RBI.


Abe Wilson went 2 for 4 with two singles a run scored and an RBI.


Jaime Samaniego went 1 for 3 with a single, one run scored and one RBI.


Cole Davidson and Cole Block each went 1 for 4 with a single, one run scored and one RBI.


Bo Schlegel went 0 for 3 with one walk. He had two RBI groundouts.


Ogallala scored one run, had three hits, left five people on-base and committed five official errors. Ogallala also had two additional mistakes via a passed ball.


Tai Le went 2 for 3 with a double and a single and he stole one base.


Luke Minster was 1 for 2 with a single and he stole one base.


Daniel Dowdy went 0 for 1 with a sacrifice bunt and he got hit by a pitch.


Joey Kupper and Jonah Saner each went 0 for 1 with a walk.


Preston Runge and Porter Tjaden each were 0 for 1.


Keegan Florom and Levi Nolt each were 0 for 2.


McCook is 7-4 on the season with an 11-1 win over Norton, Kansas on Friday afternoon, June 5th, 2026.


Ogallala is 1-3 on the season at the Senior Legion level. Ogallala's only win was their only away game on May 30th, a 19-12 win over the Security First Regulators from Rushville.


Ogallala's next home game will be against Holdrege on Saturday, June 6th, 2026. The Senior Legion game will be after the Junior Legion game which starts at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time.


The Adams Bank & Trust team will also play again on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, at home against Minden. Again, the Senior Legion game will be after the Junior Legion game which starts at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time.


Ogallala will also have Senior Legion home games against Kearney at 4:30 p.m. on June 11th and also against Chadron on the same day at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time (about 20 minutes after the game against Kearney at least).


The Ogallala Junior Legion baseball team's next game will be at Lexington on June 5th, a Junior doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time.


Ogallala will also have a Junior and a Senior Legion game at Loomis with game one starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, June 9th.


Ogallala will have two games at Gothenburg on Wednesday, June 10th. Game one will feature the Ogallala Prep team (the team below the Junior Legion level) at 4:30 p.m. Central Time while game two will be a Junior Legion game at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.
