Ogallala Boys' defeat Hershey in High School Basketball on Friday, December 19th, 2025

The Ogallala Indians Boys' High School Varsity basketball team defeated the Hershey Panthers on Friday night, December 19th, 2025, by a final score of 90 to 63.


Houston Hill scored 16 points for Hershey. He made four three-pointers.


Hill scored seven points in the first half.


Tanner DeCastro and Lincoln Gillen each scored 20 points for Ogallala.


All of DeCastro's points were from two-point range including four dunks!


One of his dunks he made with just one hand!


DeCastro scored 10 points in the first half.


Gillen made six three-pointers totaling 18 points. He scored nine points in the first half.


The game was tied at 10 apiece with 5:05 left to go in the first quarter.


Ogallala then built an 18-15 lead with 3:40 to go in the first quarter.


The Indians finished the second half of the first quarter strong taking a big 33 to 19 lead at the end of the first quarter.


Hershey trailed 42 to 27 with 3:23 to go in the second quarter.


At halftime, Ogallala led by just 15 by a score of 51 to 36.


Hershey still trailed 57 to 37 with 5:05 to go in the third quarter.


The Panthers made a little bit of a comeback and cut the deficit to 14 by a score of 61 to 47 with 3:02 left to go in quarter number three.


Ogallala led by just 12 after three quarters 64 to 52.


The Indians then started the fourth quarter hot scoring 12 points with 6:09 left to go in the fourth quarter and Lincoln Gillen drilled two threes.


Ogallala led 76 to 52 at that point.


Hershey continued to get behind even more as they trailed 85 to 55 with 3:24 left in the fourth quarter.


Ogallala led 87 to 61 with 1:27 left in the fourth quarter.


Ogallala won the game 90 to 63.


For Hershey, Aidan Truesdale scored 14 points. He made three three-point shots and one free throw.


Cole Murdock scored 12 points. He made one three-pointer and one free throw. He scored seven points in the first half.


Ryan Murphy scored nine points. He made three free throws.


Jackson Smith scored five points, including a free throw make.


Samuel Fowler made a three-pointer.


JT Lantis and Noah Sullivan each scored two points.


For Ogallala, Sawyer Smith totaled 13 points. He made one three pointer.


Rylan Gilmore and Edan Cain each scored 11 points.


Rylan Gilmore made three three-point shots. He scored all 11 points in the first quarter.


Cain made five two-pointers including a free throw make for one point.


Rhys Gilmore scored five points. He made one free throw.


Cy Lowery and Zach Musgrove each made a three-pointer.


Blake Robb made a two-pointer.


Hershey fell to 1-4 on the season.


Hershey hosts Broken Bow (4-2) on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025.


Hershey is ranked 34th in wild card points with 39.6000 points in Class C2 according to nsaahome.org. Broken Bow has 39.8333 points and is ranked 36th in Class C1 currently on Monday, December 22nd, 2025.


Hershey then has a game against Lexington on December 29th for their own two-day holiday tournament in Hershey.


Ogallala improved to 3-0 on the season.


Ogallala won against Thunder Basin (Gillette, Wyoming) in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, 63-44.


Ogallala is currently 4-0 on the season.


The Indians are tied for 8th with Doniphan-Trumbull (6-0) in the Class C1 wild card rankings according to nsaahome.org with 44.0000 points.


Ogallala has games at the Douglas County West Tournament on December 30th and December 31st.


The Indians then started the New Year playing a game at Olathe South on January 3rd.


Ogallala's next home game is on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026.


In Boys' High School Junior Varsity basketball Ogallala narrowly defeated Hershey 55 to 53, at the Ogallala Auditorium in Ogallala, Nebraska on Friday, December 19th, 2025.


Jacob Murphy scored 14 points for Hershey. He scored nine points in the first half. He made two free throws.


Rhys Gilmore scored 17 points for Ogallala. He made one three-pointer and eight free throws.

Hershey actually had a chance to tie the game at the free throw line with no time remaining in regulation, but couldn't make the final two free throws.


Ogallala led Hershey 9 to 7 with 2:27 left in the first quarter.


Hershey then led Ogallala 16 to 14 after one quarter.


Hershey led Ogallala 20-18 with 5:27 to go in the second quarter.


Ogallala led 37 to 28 after two quarters.


Hershey trailed 41 to 32 with 3:52 to to in the third quarter.


The score was Ogallala 44 and Hershey 40 after three quarters.


Ogallala led 52 to 44 with 4:33 left in the fourth quarter.


Ogallala led by just four, 54 to 50 with 1:32 to go.


Hershey made the score within one point as they trailed 54 to 53 with 31 seconds left in regulation.


Ogallala then led 55 to 53 with 8.2 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.


A Hershey player then got fouled with no time remaining in the fourth quarter. Both free throws were missed by Hershey and Ogallala won by a final score of 55 to 53.


For Hershey, Sam Fowler scored 12 points because of four three-pointers.


Zane Czarnick scored six points. He made two free throws.


Ryan Murphy (#5) scored eight points if I am not mistaken. Otherwise, it was Quinten Jones.


Ty Vaughn (#21) scored five points if I am not mistaken. Otherwise, it was Kolton Palm. He made one three-pointer.


Korbyn Herrick scored four points.


Cole Murdock (if I am not mistaken) and Dalton Sterner each scored two points. If it wasn't Cole Murdock, it was Noah Murdock I believe.


For Ogallala, Zach Musgrove scored 14 points. He made four three-pointers.


Jacoby Bauer scored eight points. He made two threes.


Beckan Cain scored seven points, including a three.


Anthony Perrin scored six points including three free throws and a three-pointer.


Wiley Krab made a three.
