Ogallala defeats Minden in Girls' High School Varsity basketball on Saturday, December 6th, 2025

The Ogallala Lady Indians High School Girls' Varsity basketball team defeated the Minden Whippets 74 to 20 on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at the Steven Morgan Court in the Prairie View Gymnasium in Ogallala, Nebraska.


Ogallala's Shaydyn Rasby led all scorers with 17 points. She made eight two-point shots and a free throw.


Minden's Myla Emery scored 14 points. She made nine free throws and a three-point basket.


Minden trailed 8 to 2 with 5:55 left to go in the first quarter.


Ogallala led 26 to 8 after the first quarter.


The Indians continued to expand their lead to 37 to 11 with 3:58 to go in the second quarter.


After two quarters, Minden trailed Ogallala 54 to 15 at halftime.


There was a running clock for nearly the entire second half with Ogallala holding such a large lead.


In the instance when a team leads by a lot of points, the running clock rule goes into effect in which the game clock only stops for injuries and timeouts and it does not stop for foul shots at the free throw line.


Ogallala led 67 to 18 after the third quarter.


Minden trailed 72 to 20 with three minutes left in the fourth quarter.


After four quarters, Ogallala won by a final score of 74 to 20.


KayLynn Jorgensen scored two points for Minden. She made two free throws.


Kaleigh Carr and Ruby Rhynalds each made a two-point shot.


For Ogallala, Aniston O'Neil scored 16 points. She made three three-point baskets and one free throw.


Laney Caskey made five two-pointers and scored ten points.


Harper Smith, a freshman, totaled nine points. She made five free throws.


Addison Powell made two three-pointers and finished with six points.


Hayden Shaw made a three-point shot and totaled five points. Inga Burton also scored five points which included a free throw make.


Addison Slama scored four points.


Brooklyn Robb scored two points.


Minden (1-1) plays at Lexington today on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025. The Whippets host Broken Bow on Thursday, December 11th.


Ogallala (2-0), travels to Chase County for a game against the Chase County Longhorns on Saturday, December 13th. They also have an away game at North Platte St. Pat's on Tuesday, December 16th, before hosting Hershey on Friday, December 19th.


Before the Varsity game, Minden also played Ogallala in Girls' Junior Varsity basketball on Saturday, December 6th, 2025.
