Ogallala destroys Lexington 75 to 26 in Boys' Varsity Basketball

The Ogallala Indians High School Boys' Varsity basketball team defeated the Lexington Minutemen 75 to 26 on Friday night, December 6th, 2024, at the Prairie View Gymnasium on the Steve Morgan Court in Ogallala, Nebraska.
Ogallala led 24 to 3 after the first quarter and I believe never trailed in the game.
Carlos Martinez led Lexington with eight points and made two two-point shots and four free throws.
Ogallala's Tanner DeCastro scored the most points for either team with 17 points and he also made what looked like a dunk (although that is debatable) as one of his field goals. DeCastro made one three-point shot including, two free throws as the rest were two-point shots.
Lexington's Bryant Traux scored 7 points including a three-point shot and two two-point shots.
Ogallala's Sawyer Smith scored 14 points including one three-point shot. Smith also made three free throws.
Ogallala's Lincoln Gillen scored 13 points including two three-pointers and one free throw made. Edan Cain and Rylan Gilmore made two three-point baskets and one free throw totaling seven points each.
Ogallala led 31 to 5 with 4:49 left in the 2nd quarter.
Lexington trailed 41 to 14 with 2:16 left in the 2nd quarter.
Ogallala led 48 to 14 after two quarters at halftime.
The Indians led 60 to 19 with 3:42 left in the 3rd quarter and at that point, the 40-point lead running clock rules went into effect.
Ogallala led 66 to 21 at the end of the third quarter.
Ogallala scored just nine points in the fourth quarter with their backup and third-string players in the game for most of the fourth quarter and Ogallala won the game 75 to 26.
Lexington (0-2) plays at Minden on Tuesday, December 10th. Ogallala (1-0) plays at Minden today (Saturday, December 7th).
Lexington's next home game is against Schuyler on Saturday, December 21st. Ogallala's next home game is on Saturday, December 14th, against Chase County.
Lexington actually defeated Ogallala in the Boys' Junior Varsity contest at the Ogallala Auditorium 54 to 47.
Lexington's Kannon Seim scored 14 points.
Ogallala's Drew Patin scored 21 points for Ogallala (or at least 19 points).
