Ogallala Girls' defeat Bridgeport in High School Varsity Basketball on January 6th, 2026, remain undefeated

The Ogallala Indians High School Girls' Varsity basketball team defeated the Bridgeport Bulldogs 64-30 on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, on the Steve Morgan Court at the Prairie View Gymnasium in Ogallala, Nebraska.
Both teams did not want to play a High School Girls' Junior Varsity game at all on Tuesday!
Olivia Brown scored a team-high 14 points for Bridgeport on Tuesday evening. She made three three-pointers and one free throw.
Brown scored five points in the first half.
Aniston O'Neil scored a team-high 21 points for Ogallala. She made six three-point baskets.
She started the game making one free throw and a two-point basket (and, in that order too)!
O'Neil scored nine points in each of the first two quarters. She has scored 20 or more points in four of her last six games.
Ogallala led 6-0 with 6:18 left to go in the first quarter.
The Indians led 13-4 with 4:19 to go in the opening quarter.
Bridgeport then trailed 15-4 with 3:21 remaining in the first quarter.
Ogallala led 24-4 after one quarter.
The Bulldogs finally got another score and trailed 35-6 with 4:10 left in the second quarter.
Both teams didn't score a lot with 1:09 remaining in quarter number two as Bridgeport trailed by 30, 39-9.
After two quarters, Ogallala led 42-11 at halftime.
The Indians led 47-11 with 7:00 minutes to go in the third quarter.
Bridgeport kept Ogallala from getting a 40-point lead until Aniston O'Neil hit a three-pointer to make it Ogallala 56 and Bridgeport 14 with 3:44 left in the third quarter.
After that, there was a running clock for the rest of the game in which the game clock never stops at all (even if fouls are committed) except for timeouts and injuries.
The Bulldogs then scored eight of the next ten points and Ogallala led 58-22 after three quarters.
Both teams didn't score much in the final quarter as there was less than 10 total points from each team combined with 2:05 remaining in the fourth quarter as Bridgeport trailed Ogallala 64-25.
Ogallala won the game 64-30 and improved to 9-0 in the regular season.
The Indians are now ranked 1st in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 12:16 p.m. Mountain Time.
Ogallala has 48.5000 wild card points and is listed as having 10 wins and 0 losses but that is incorrect as Ogallala is 9-0 and has only played Thunder Basin (Wyoming) once this regular season and not twice this regular season.
Bridgeport fell to a won-lost record of 10-2 in the regular season and they are ranked 7th according to nsaahome.org on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 12:16 p.m. Mountain Time with 45.0833 wild card points.
The Bulldogs won their first 10 games of the regular season and have lost their last two games.
For Bridgeport, Ella Schluterbusch scored eight points. She made one three and one free throw.
Schluterbusch scored six points in the third quarter.
Reata Loomis scored six points. She made three two-pointers.
Elizabeth Velazquez scored two points.
For Ogallala, Shaydyn Rasby scored 19 points. She made nine two-point baskets and one free throw.
Rasby scored six points in the first quarter, four in the second quarter and seven in the third quarter.
She has scored 10 or more points in four of her last five games.
Laney Caskey scored 14 points. She made six two-pointers and two free throws.
Caskey scored eight points in the first half.
She has totaled 10 or more points in five of the last six games!
Caskey has scored exactly 14 points in back-to-back games.
Rasby and Caskey each had their second-highest individual basketball player scoring total on Tuesday evening.
Hayden Shaw made a three-pointer. She has scored in every game this season.
Addison Powell also scored three points, including a free throw make.
Powell has scored in all but one game this regular season.
Harper Smith made a two-pointer. She has scored in back-to-back games.
Inga Burton made two free throws in the third quarter.
Bridgeport has a home game against Alliance (3-8) on Friday, January 9th.
The Bulldogs then play at Kimball on Friday, January 16th, before hosting Mitchell on Saturday, January 17th.
Ogallala's next Junior Varsity and Varsity games are on Friday, January 9th at Cozad (2-9).
The Indians then have a Varsity game against Milford on Saturday, January 10th, in Kearney, Nebraska, for the Nebraska Girls' Basketball Showcase at Kearney High School at approximately (or sometime after) 5:10 p.m. Central Time/4:10 p.m. Mountain Time apparently.
Milford (11-1) is ranked third in Class C1 currently according to nsaahome.org on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 12:29 p.m. Mountain Time with 46.0000 wild card points.
Gothenburg (8-1) is ranked second in Class C1 currently according to nsaahome.org on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 12:29 p.m. Mountain Time with 46.2222 wild card points.
Ogallala then has High School Reserve home games against Gothenburg on Monday, January 12th.
The Indians then host Sidney for Girls' Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball on Friday, January 16th.
Ogallala then travels to Valentine for Girls' Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball on Saturday, January 17th.
