Ogallala Girls' now 18-2, defeats Broken Bow in High School Varsity Basketball on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at the Auditorium; Ogallala to play Gothenburg on Tuesday, Holdrege on Friday

The Ogallala Indians High School Girls' Varsity basketball team defeated the Broken Bow Indians 64-31 on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at the Ogallala Auditorium in Ogallala, Nebraska.


Charlee Myers scored eight points for Broken Bow. She made four free throws.


Hayden Shaw scored 17 points for Ogallala. She made five three-pointers and two free throws!


Shaw scored all of her points in the first half! She also scored the most points in a game all year long in the actual year of 2026.


To start the game, Hayden Shaw made a three-pointer for Ogallala.


Then, Laney Caskey made a two-pointer and Hayden Shaw made another three for Ogallala and they led 8-0.


Bailey Faltys completed a three-point play for Broken Bow by making a two-pointer and a free throw with 5:51 left in the first quarter.


Jayden Gaffney then made only the second of two free throws and Broken Bow trailed 8-4.


Laney Caskey then made another two for Ogallala and then Addison Slama made a three for Ogallala!


Hayden Shaw then made a free throw and Ogallala led 14-4 with 3:47 left in the first quarter.


Shaw then made another free throw before Shaydyn Rasby made two free throws for Ogallala.


Hayden Shaw then made another three for Ogallala and they led 20-4.


Halle Quinn and Charlee Myers for Broken Bow each then only made the second of two free throws and Ogallala led 20-6.


Charlee Myers then made the first of two free throws for Broken Bow with 1:05 left in the first quarter.


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two and Addison Powell made two free throws and Ogallala led 24-7 after one quarter.


Laney Caskey then made a two-pointer for Ogallala.


Jaycee Staples made a two-pointer for Broken Bow.


Shaydyn Rasby made another two-pointer and Ogallala led 28-9 with 5:27 left in the second quarter.


Jaycee Staples then made a three for Broken Bow.


Addison Slama then made only the second of two free throws for Ogallala and they led 29-12.


Then, Hayden Shaw made back-to-back threes for Ogallala.


Aniston O'Neil made a three-pointer and Shaydyn Rasby made a two and Ogallala led 40-12 with 2:00 left in the second quarter.


Jayden Gaffney made two free throws for Broken Bow while Anslee Campbell only made the first of two free throws for Broken Bow.


O'Neil then drained another three and Sadie Flansburg also made a three-pointer from the west right corner and Ogallala led 46-15.


Jayden Gaffney then made a two-pointer for Broken Bow and Ogallala led 46-17 after two quarters at halftime.


Jaycee Staples and Jayden Gaffney each scored five points in the first half for Broken Bow.


Shaydyn Rasby scored eight points in the first half for Ogallala and Laney Caskey and Aniston O'Neil each scored six points in the first half.


To start the third quarter, Shaydyn Rasby made back-to-back two-point baskets for Ogallala.


Laney Caskey then made two free throws and Ogallala led 52-17.


Charlee Myers then made two free throws for Broken Bow and Ogallala led 52-19 with 4:10 left in the third quarter.


Myers then scored two more for Broken Bow.


Addison Slama made a two for Ogallala.


Halle Quinn then made a three and Broken Bow trailed Ogallala 54-24.


Laney Caskey made a two and Ogallala led 56-24 with 2:49 left in the third quarter.


Anslee Campbell then made a two for Broken Bow.


Laney Caskey then made a two-pointer for Ogallala and Ogallala led after three quarters 58-26.


Jayden Gaffney then made only the second of two free throws for Broken Bow.


Addison Slama only made the first of two free throws for Ogallala.


Sadie Flansburg then made two free throws and Ogallala led 61-27.


Charlee Myers then made a two-pointer for Broken Bow.


Sadie Flansburg then made only the first of two free throws and Ogallala led 62-29 with 4:52 left in the fourth quarter.


Halle Quinn then made a two-pointer for Broken Bow with 1:31 left in the fourth quarter.


Inga Burton then made a two-pointer for Ogallala and Ogallala won by a final score of 64-31.


For Broken Bow, Halle Quinn scored six points. She made one three-pointer and one free throw.


Jayden Gaffney also scored six points. She made four free throws!


Jaycee Staples scored five points. She made one three-pointer.


Anslee Campbell and Bailey Faltys each scored three points. They each made one free throw.


For Ogallala, Laney Caskey and Shaydyn Rasby each scored 12 points.


Caskey and Rasby each made two free throws.


Caskey has scored at least six points in five straight games.


Rasby has scored 10 or more points in four of the last five Varsity games.


Addison Slama scored seven points. She made one three-pointer and two free throws.


Slama scored more points in this game than she scored in any one of the previous four games!


Aniston O'Neil scored six points. She made two three-pointers.


O'Neil has scored at least six points in three straight games.


Sadie Flansburg also scored six points. She made one three-pointer and three free throws!


Addison Powell scored two points which included making two free throws. She has scored in five straight games!


Inga Burton also scored two points.


Broken Bow is scheduled to play at Ord on Tuesday, February 10th, and they also will host Cozad on Friday, February 13th.


Ord (11-10) is currently ranked 26th in Class C2 on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 6:19 p.m. Mountain Time, according to nsaahome.org with 41.4762 wild card points.


Cozad (3-17) is currently ranked 44th in Class C1 on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 6:12 p.m. Mountain Time, according to nsaahome.org with 38.3000 wild card points.


Ogallala is scheduled to play a home game against Gothenburg at Prairie View on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, in High School Girls' Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball.


Gothenburg (17-3) is currently ranked 7th in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 45.3000 wild card points.


The winner of Gothenburg at Ogallala will most likely host the Class C1-11 Subdistrict Tournament (if Ogallala isn't already scheduled to host it) on February 16th, 17th and 19th.


Holdrege will visit Ogallala on Friday, February 13th, 2026, to conclude the regular season.


Holdrege (18-3) is currently ranked 6th in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 45.5714 wild card points.


Broken Bow (13-9) is tied with Chadron (14-8) for 20th place in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 42.3636 wild card points.


Ogallala (18-2) is currently ranked fourth in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 46.0000 wild card points.


The State Tournament is scheduled for March 4th through March 7th, 2026.
