Ogallala Girls' now 18-3, falls to Gothenburg in a close one in High School Varsity Basketball

The Gothenburg Swedes Girls' High School Varsity basketball team defeated the Ogallala Indians on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, 61-58, at the Prairie View Gymnasium in Ogallala, Nebraska.


Zoe Beveridge scored 22 points for Gothenburg. She made three three-pointers and three free throws!


Aniston O'Neil scored 15 points for Ogallala. She made two three-pointers and three free throws.


To start the game, Lindly Anderson scored a two-pointer for Gothenburg.


Then, Zoe Beveridge hit a three and Gothenburg led 5-0 with 6:09 left in the first quarter.


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two-pointer for Ogallala.


Zoe Beveridge then made a two for the Swedes.


Laney Caskey then made a two-pointer for the Indians and Ogallala trailed 7-4.


Zoe Beveridge then hit another three and Gothenburg led 10-4 with 5:10 left in the first quarter.


Ellie Wyatt then made one free throw for the Swedes and the second free throw attempt was a lane violation by Gothenburg.


Zoe Beveridge then hit a two-pointer and Gothenburg led 13-4 with 4:14 left in the first quarter.


Laney Caskey then made a two-pointer for Ogallala with 3:15 left in the first quarter.


Zoe Beveridge then made only the second of two free throws and Gothenburg led 14-4.


Addison Powell then made a three for Ogallala.


Aniston O'Neil then made two free throws for the Indians and Gothenburg led 14-11.


Lindly Anderson then swished the first free throw and made the second free throw as well and the Swedes led 16-11.


Halsey Thomalla made a two-pointer for Gothenburg.


Addison Powell then made two free throws for Ogallala.


Aubry Hall then made a two-point basket and Gothenburg led over Ogallala 20-13 after the first quarter.


Zoe Beveridge made a two-pointer for the Swedes.


Laney Caskey then made a two for Ogallala and Gothenburg led 22-15 with 6:50 left in the second quarter.


Hayden Shaw then hit a three-pointer and Laney Caskey made a two-pointer and Ogallala trailed Gothenburg 22-20.


Aniston O'Neil then made a two-pointer for Ogallala and the game was tied at 22 apiece with 5:17 left in the second quarter!


Ellie Wyatt then made a three-pointer from the right 45 degree angle and Gothenburg led by three.


Aniston O'Neil then hit a three for the Indians to tie the game at 25!


Aubry Hall and Halsey Thomalla then each made a two-pointer for Gothenburg.


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two-pointer for Ogallala and Gothenburg led after two quarters at halftime by a score of 29-27.


Zoe Beveridge scored 13 points for Gothenburg in the first half.


Laney Caskey scored eight points for Ogallala in the first half while Aniston O'Neil scored seven points and Addison Powell totaled five points.


To start the second half, Zoe Beveridge scored a two-pointer for the Swedes.


Then, Aubry Hall hit a three for Gothenburg and they led 34-27.


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two-point shot for the Indians.


Halsey Thomalla then only made the second of two free throws for Gothenburg.


Addison Slama then hit a three for Ogallala and Gothenburg led 35-32 with 4:59 left in the third quarter.


Aniston O'Neil then hit a three and also made a two-pointer and Ogallala led 37-35!


Harper Smith then made a two-pointer for Ogallala while Zoe Beveridge made a two-pointer for Gothenburg and Ogallala led 39-37 with 2:37 left in the third quarter.


Zoe Beveridge then made a two-pointer to tie the game at 39 with 1:29 left in the third quarter!


Hayden Shaw then completed a three-point play by making a two-pointer and then immediately afterwards she made the free throw for Ogallala.


Zoe Beveridge then hit a three for the Swedes.


Addison Slama then hit a three for Ogallala and after three quarters the Indians led 45-42.


To start the fourth quarter, Laney Caskey made a two-point basket for Ogallala.


Halsey Thomalla then made only the second of two free throws for Gothenburg and Ogallala led 47-43.


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two-pointer for Ogallala.


Aliyah Carlson made a three for Gothenburg and Ogallala led 49-46 with 5:52 left in the fourth quarter.


Aubry Hall then hit a three-pointer from the right 45 degree angle for Gothenburg and the game was tied at 49 apiece with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter!


Aliyah Carlson then made another three for the Swedes.


Aniston O'Neil then made a two-pointer for Ogallala and immediately afterward made a free throw and the game was tied again at 52!


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two-pointer and Ogallala retook a two-point lead with 3:45 to go in the fourth quarter.


Aliyah Carlson then made two free throws for Gothenburg and the game was tied again at 54 with 2:46 to go in regulation.


Shaydyn Rasby then made another two-point basket for Ogallala while Halsey Thomalla made a two-pointer for Gothenburg and the game was tied at 56 with 1:43 to go in the fourth quarter!


Halsey Thomalla then completed a three-point play by making a two-pointer and then immediately afterward she made a free throw and Gothenburg led by three 59-56.


Shaydyn Rasby then made two free throws for Ogallala and Gothenburg led by one with 44 seconds left in regulation.


Zoe Beveridge then made two free throws for Gothenburg and the Swedes led 61-58 with 33.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter.


Ogallala had four basketball players with four fouls and two of them did foul out.


Lindly Anderson for Gothenburg could have put the game essentially out of reach with 17.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter, but she missed two free throws.


Shaydyn Rasby then had a wide open lane to make a layup going to the basket on the right side but Ogallala's head coach called timeout with 14.3 seconds left.


Ogallala's Hayden Shaw shot a three from the right side and couldn't connect and Aniston O'Neil also got an opportunity to shoot a three with about five seconds left from the left 45 degree angle and couldn't make the shot and then time on the game clock ran out and Gothenburg won by a final score of 61-58.


For Gothenburg, Aubry Hall scored ten points. She made two three-pointers.


Aliyah Carlson scored eight points. She made two three-pointers and two free throws.


Halsey Thomalla also scored eight points. She made two free throws.


Lindly Anderson scored four points. She made two free throws.


Ellie Wyatt also scored four points. She made one three-pointer and one free throw.


For Ogallala, Shaydyn Rasby scored 13 points. She made six two-pointers and one free throw!


Laney Caskey scored ten points. She made five two-pointers!


Hayden Shaw scored six points. She made one three-pointer and one free throw.


Addison Slama also scored six points. She made two three-pointers.


Addison Powell scored five points. She made one three-pointer and two free throws.


Harper Smith scored two points.


Gothenburg improved to 18 wins and 3 losses in the season.


Ogallala fell to 18 wins and 3 losses in the regular season.


After the Gothenburg win, the Swedes are ranked 11th in the entire state of Nebraska according to Maxpreps.com.


Ogallala is now ranked 10th in the entire state of Nebraska according to Maxpreps.com.


The Swedes will host Kearney Catholic on Friday, February 13th, 2026.


The Indians will host Holdrege on Friday, February 13th, 2026. The Junior Varsity games for both Boys' and Girls' will start at 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time. The Girls' Varsity game will start at approximately 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time and the Boys' Varsity game will start at approximately 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time.


Gothenburg and Ogallala will then play in the C1-11 Subdistrict Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, February 16th and 17, and Thursday, February 19th.

Greer Tiller scored six points for Gothenburg. She made two free throws.


Harper Smith scored 18 points for Ogallala. She made two free throws.


Harper Smith and Addison Powell each scored a two-pointer for Ogallala.


Smith then made a two-pointer and completed a three-point play by making a free throw and Ogallala led 7-0.


Kinley Foster then made a two-pointer for Gothenburg.


Inga Burton made a two for Ogallala and the Indians led 9-2 with 2:40 left in the first quarter.


Addison Powell then made two free throws for Ogallala.


Aliyah Carlson then made a three for Gothenburg and Ogallala led 11-5.


Harper Smith then made a two while Tenlie Flansburg made a three for Ogallala.

Addison Powell and Harper Smith each made a two-pointer for Ogallala and the Indians led 38-17 with 5:57 to go in the third quarter.


Kooper Knispel and Harper Smith then made a two-pointer for Ogallala.

Harper Smith then completed a three-point play by making a two and then a free throw.

Sam Bell started the fourth quarter by hitting a three-pointer for Ogallala.


Then, Tenlie Flansburg made a two-pointer for the Indians and Ogallala led 54-27 with 5:02 left to go in the fourth quarter.


Riley Flesch made a free throw for Gothenburg.


Aliyah Huser then made a three-pointer for the Swedes and Gothenburg trailed 54-31.


Brooklyn Robb then made only the second of two free throws for Ogallala and the Indians led 55-31 with 4:01 to go in regulation.


Kooper Knispel then made a two for Ogallala while Inga Burton and Tenlie Flansburg each hit a three and Ogallala led 63-31.


Charlie Caskey then made a two for Ogallala with 2:00 left in the fourth quarter.


Tenlie Flansburg then hit her fourth three of the game for Ogallala and the Indians led 68-31.


Madilyn McNally and Aliyah Houser each made only the second of two free throws for Gothenburg and that was the final score as Ogallala won 68-33.


For Gothenburg, Aliyah Carlson and Kinley Foster each scored five points.


Carlson and Foster each made one three-pointer!


Aaliyah Houser scored four points. She made one three-pointer and one free throw.


Ruby Beveridge made a three-pointer.


Madilyn McNally also scored three points which included a free throw make.


Aubrey Cross, Lilly Fritton and Brooklyn Massin each scored two points. Massin made two free throws.


Riley Flesch made a free throw.


For Ogallala, Tenlie Flansburg scored 14 points. She made four three-pointers!


Addison Powell scored ten points! She made four free throws.


Inga Burton scored seven points. She made one three-pointer.


Kooper Knispel scored six points.


Brooklyn Robb scored five points. She made one free throw.


Sam Bell and Haidyn Rapp each scored three points as they each made a three-pointer!
