Ogallala is now 18-4, falls to Holdrege in Girls' High School Varsity Basketball on Friday, February 13th, 2026; Ogallala will host C1-10 Girls' Subdistricts

The Holdrege Dusters High School Girls' Varsity basketball team defeated the Ogallala Indians 46-36 on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at the Steve Morgan Court in the Prairie View Gymnasium in Ogallala, Nebraska.
At this point of the season, every game is going to be a battle and it was hard for both teams at times to score points.
Emily Stutzman scored 20 points for Holdrege. She made one three-pointer and five free throws!
Laney Caskey scored nine points for Ogallala. She made one free throw.
Aniston O'Neil made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Then, Emily Stutzman made a three for Holdrege and the Duster led with 3:30 left in the first quarter.
Aniston O'Neil and Laney Caskey each made a two and Ogallala led 6-3.
Kambryn Vaughn then made a three for Holdrege.
Addison Powell then made two two-pointers for Ogallala!
Ogallala led after one quarter 10-5.
Emily Stutzman then made a two for Holdrege.
Avery Bilka then made a two but couldn't complete the three-point play for the Dusters.
Holdrege then took the lead on an Emily Stutzman two and a free throw and they led 12-10 with 6:13 left in the second quarter.
Avery Bilka and Gracie Johnson then each hit a three for Holdrege.
Addison Slama made a two for Ogallala and Holdrege led 18-12.
Emily Stutzman then hit two free throws for Holdrege and they led with 3:05 to remaining in the second quarter.
Aniston O'Neil made only the first of two free throws for Ogallala and Holdrege led 20-13 with 1:20 until halftime.
Emily Stutzman then made a two for Holdrege.
Laney Caskey then made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Holdrege led after two quarters 22-15.
Emily Stutzman scored 12 points in the first half for Holdrege while Averi Bilka scored five points.
For Ogallala, Aniston O'Neil was the top scorer in the first half with five points.
To start the second half, Hayden Shaw made a three for Ogallala.
Then, Addy Stutzman made a three for Holdrege and Holdrege led 25-18 with 4:17 remaining in the third quarter.
Laney Caskey then only made the second of two free throws and then she made a two-pointer for Ogallala and Holdrege led 25-21 with 2:22 left in the third quarter.
Carson Sundquist then made a two for Holdrege.
Harper Smith made a three for Ogallala and they trailed 27-24.
Carson Sundquist then made two free throws and Holdrege led 29-24 with 11.8 seconds left in the third quarter in which Holdrege called a timeout to set up one final scoring play.
On that scoring play, Holdrege kind of threw the ball around seemingly aimlessly after getting it across halfcourt, then one of the Holdrege players threw it to Gracie Johnson who was wide open on the left 45 degree angle side (the south side) from deep range way beyond the three-point line and Johnson made a three right as time expired in the third quarter!
The Indians again trailed after three quarters 24-32.
In the fourth quarter, Carson Sundquist made two free throws for the Dusters.
Then, Addison Powell made a three for Ogallala and Holdrege led 34-27.
Emily Stutzman made another two for Holdrege and they led with 6:35 left in the fourth quarter.
Then, Addison Slama made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Carson Sundquist made a two-pointer and Holdrege led 38-29 with 5:31 to go in regulation.
Emily Stutzman made two free throws for Holdrege.
Gracie Johnson made a two for Holdrege.
Then, Hayden Shaw made a three for Ogallala and the Indians trailed 42-32 with 3:48 to go in the fourth quarter.
Emily Stutzman then made a two for Holdrege.
Laney Caskey then made a two for Ogallala.
Emily Stutzman then scored a two-pointer basket for Holdrege.
Shaydyn Rasby then scored a two-point basket for Ogallala with 1:03 to go in the fourth quarter as she was held scoreless nearly the entire game!
The Dusters won by a final score of 46-36.
For Holdrege, Gracie Johnson scored eight points. She made two three-pointers.
Carson Sundquist also scored eight points. She made four free throws!
Averi Bilka scored five points. She made one three-pointer.
Addy Stutman made a three-pointer and totaled three points.
Kambryn Vaughn scored two points.
For Ogallala, Addison Powell scored seven points. She made one three-pointer.
Hayden Shaw scored six points. She made two three-pointers!
Aniston O'Neil scored five points. She made one free throw.
Addison Slama scored four points.
Harper Smith made a three-pointer and totaled three points.
Shaydyn Rasby scored two points.
At 12:46 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, February 14th, 2026, Holdrege (20-3) was ranked 4th in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 45.9130 wild card points.
Ogallala (18-4), on the other hand, dropped to 6th in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 45.5000 wild card points.
#2 Holdrege will play #3 Minden on Tuesday, February 17th, at 7:30 p.m. Central Time in Malcolm, Nebraska, for the second round of the C1-9 Subdistrict Tournament.
If Holdrege wins, they will play #1 Malcolm, #4 Fillmore Central or #5 Wilber-Clatonia in the C1-9 Subdistrict Championship Game on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, in Malcolm at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.
Fillmore Central will play Wilber-Clatonia on Monday, February 16th, at 6:30 p.m. Central Time in Malcolm. The winner of that game will play Malcolm at 6:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, February 17th.
Ogallala will play their first game of the C1-10 Subdistrict Tournament on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time in Ogallala, Nebraska, at Prairie View School against #4 Chadron or #5 Chase County.
If Ogallala wins, they will play #2 Gothenburg, #3 Bridgeport or #6 Cozad at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, in Ogallala, at Prairie View School in the C1-10 Subdistrict Championship game.
Chadron will play Chase County to open the C1-10 Subdistrict Tournament on Monday, February 16th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time in Ogallala. Bridgeport will play Cozad after that at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time in Ogallala.
On Tuesday, February 17th, Gothenburg will play the winner of Bridgeport and Cozad, at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time, in Ogallala.
I believe the District Final for Girls' High School Varsity Basketball in Nebraska is on Thursday and Friday, February 26th and 27th, 2026.
The State Tournament for Girls' High School Varsity basketball in Nebraska is from March 4th through 7th, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
