Ogallala Varsity Girls' Volleyball defeats Sidney in five sets on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026

The Ogallala Indians High School Varsity Girls' volleyball team defeated the Sidney Red Raiders three sets to two sets on Thursday evening, September 3rd, 2026, at the Prairie View Gymnasium on the Steve Morgan Court in Ogallala, Nebraska.

Ogallala lost both sets one and four 22 to 25. Ogallala won set two 25 to 21 and set three 25 to 18. Ogallala won the fifth set 15 to 8.

Ogallala improved to 3-0 on the season while Sidney fell to 1-2 on the season.

Ogallala will be at McCook on Tuesday, September 8th. Sidney will be at Mitchell on Tuesday, September 8th.

Reagan Nesbitt led Sidney with 18 kills and she also had one ace serve.

Laramey Misegadis led Sidney with three aces serves and also she led Sidney with seven blocks. She also had 12 kills.

For Ogallala, Alex Ervin led Ogallala with 18 kills. She also had one ace and one block.

Tenlie Flansburg had five aces serves, which was the most by an Ogallala volleyball player.

Kooper Knispel led Ogallala with 4 1/2 blocks. She also had six kills.

In the first set Sidney led 6-5, 10-5 and 15 to 11. Ogallala then led 20 to 17 before Sidney won 25 to 22.

Ogallala trailed 6 to 13 and was tied with Sidney at 16 in the first set. Ogallala led 22 to 20, before Sidney won the last five points in the first set.

In set number two Ogallala led 5 to 1, 10 to 8, 15 to 11, and 20 to 17 before winning 25 to 21.

In set three, Ogallala led 8 to 1. Ogallala also led 10 to 4, 15 to 6 and 20 to 14. Ogallala won set three 25 to 18.

In set four, Sidney led 5 to 3, Sidney led 10 to 9, Ogallala led 15 to 14 and 20 to 18 before Sidney won set four 25 to 22.

In set five, Ogallala led 4 to 1 and 8 to 2. Ogallala also led 10 to 4 and 13 to 6. Ogallala won the final set 15 to 8.

For Sidney, Jordynn Schnell recorded five blocks and five kills.

Rylan Misegadis had six kills.

Ava Witte had two blocks and two kills.

Taylor Sprenger had two ace serves.

For Ogallala, Shaydyn Rasby had three aces, 1 1/2 blocks and 11 kills.

Kamryn Klockman had 11 kills.

Addison Powell had one block and five kills.

Inga Burton had three ace serves.

Sidney won the Junior Varsity volleyball match over Ogallala two sets to one.

Ansley Santero led Sidney with seven kills and she also had two blocks, which also led Sidney.

Lainey Uhlir led Sidney with two ace serves. She also had half a block and two kills.

Evelyn Gillham also led Sidney with two ace serves and she also had three kills.

Sam Bell led Ogallala with nine kills. She also had one ace serve.

Inga Burton led Ogallala with two ace serves.

Ogallala led 5 to 3, Sidney led 10 to 9 and 15 to 14 and 20 to 16, and then Sidney won the first set 25 to 21.

In set two, Sidney led 5 to 4, 10 to 9, and 15 to 13. Ogallala then led 20 to 19 and won the second set 26 to 24.

In set three, Sidney led 3 to 2, 6 to 3 and 9 to 5. Sidney also led 12 to 6 and won the third set 15 to 7.

For Sidney, Kinslee Lewis had six kills, one ace serve and one block.

Nora Jenson had one ace, half a block and three kills.

Harper Misegadis had one block and one kill.

For Ogallala, Tenlie Flansburg had seven kills and one block.

Addison Holm had six kills.

Addlie Flansburg had 3 1/2 kills.

Marly Eastman had one block and possibly two kills.

In the Reserve match (for Freshman and Sophomores primarily, and maybe even some Juniors too), Ogallala won in straight sets 28 to 26 and 25 to 22.

Katy Larson led Sidney with four kills and she also had one block.

Nora Jenson had three ace serves which led Sidney and she also had one block and one block.

Julia Flaming led Ogallala with seven kills and three ace serves.

Caydence Rasby led Ogallala with two blocks and she also had six kills.

In the first set, Ogallala led 5 to 2, 10 to 5 and 15 to 13. Sidney led 20 to 17 and 24 to 18 before Ogallala went on a scoring run to tie set one at 24 apiece.

Sidney then got to both 25 and 26 first before Ogallala got to 27 and 28 first to win set one 28 to 26.

Sidney mistakes cost them a set they probably should have won.

Ogallala led 5 to 1, 10 to 6, 15 to 9, 20 to 18 and won the second set 25 to 22.

For Sidney, Birkley Allington had one ace serve and two kills.

Bentli Price had one ace serve and one kill.

Kyra Witte had two kills.

Luci Grove had one ace serve.

Megan McCartney had one kill.

For Ogallala, Rosalie Davis had five kills and one block.

Addlie Flansburg had three kills and one ace serve.

Tessa Kirchner had one block and two kills.

Mary Finken had two kills.

Samantha Tickle had one kill.
