Sidney Boys' defeat Mitchell in High School Varsity Basketball on Monday, February 23rd, 2026; To play #1 Ogallala on Tuesday, February 24th in Subdistrict Semifinals

The #4 ranked Sidney Red Raiders High School Boys' Varsity basketball team defeated the #5 ranked Mitchell Tigers by a final score of 61-27 in the Class C1-10 Subdistrict Tournament Quarterfinals on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, on the Steve Morgan Court in the Prairie View Gymnasium in Ogallala, Nebraska.

Waymond Banks scored eight points for Mitchell. He made four two-point baskets!

Kale Kaiser scored 19 points for Sidney. He made seven two-pointers and five free throws!

Sidney led Mitchell 18 to 7 after one quarter.

The Tigers trailed after two quarters 34-10.

The Red Raiders led 50-15 after three quarters.

Mitchell outscored Sidney 12 to 11 in the fourth quarter, but Sidney won by a final score of 61-27.

For Mitchell, Clayton Schultz scored five points. He made one three pointer.

James Billingsley scored four points. He made two free throws!

Xavier Galloway also scored four points.

Tate Hessler scored two points.

Norman Coley, Cash Robbins and Klayton Thomas each made a free throw and totaled one point.

For Sidney, Lance Holly scored 14 points. He made one three-pointer and three free throws.

Keian Kaiser scored eight points. He made four two-point baskets.

Kash Knobbe scored six points. He made three two-pointers including one dunk!

Alek Doty scored eight points. He made two three-pointers.

Grahm Santero scored three points. He made one free throw.

Rhys Dorcey scored two points.

Kyle Jaggers made a free throw and totaled one point.

#4 ranked Sidney (11-13) will play against #1 ranked Ogallala (22-0) today on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, again at Prairie View in Ogallala at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

#3 Chase County (12-12) will play against #2 ranked Bridgeport (21-4) today on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, again at Prairie View in Ogallala at approximately 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time at least 20 minutes after the Sidney-Ogallala game concludes.

Chase County defeated #6 Chadron (now 10-15), 59-45 on Monday, February 23rd, 2026.
