Decoding National Football League Regular Season Week 3 #WeekThree #Week3

Last year in National Football League (NFL) regular season Week Three (3) this is what happened for whether the home or away team won each game based on how each website that covers the NFL classified it.

So for example, the first game of Week 3 last year (Thursday Night Football) in the NFL resulted in the home team winning based on how ESPN.com listed it on their website for example.

Bad example, I know.

Better example. NFL game number two of Week 3 last year was the Houston Texans at Chicago Bears according to ESPN.com. The Bears won, so the home team won that game.

So I thought it would be fun maybe to try to decode the NFL schedule (to figure out which team will actually win for each matchup in the 2023-24 NFL season for Week 3) and figure out whether the home team or the away team will win each game based on how each website classifies each game of NFL Week 3 (whether that is Game 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)

I feel like this will tell me whether to pick the home team or the away team for each matchup. Do I pick what happened last year or do I do the opposite of what happened last year?

So here is the winner of each game for Week 3 in the 2022-23 NFL season:

Game 1: Home/Home/Home/Home

Game 2: Home/Home/Home/Away

Game 3: Home/Home/Home/Home

Game 4: Home/Home/Home/Away

Game 5: Home/Home/Away/Home

Game 6: Home/Home/Away/Home

Game 7: Away/Away/Home/Home/

Game 8: Away/Away/Home/Home/

Game 9: Home/Away/Away/Home

Game 10: Away/Home/Home/Away

Game 11: Away/Away/Away/Away

Game 12: Away/Away/Away/Away

Game 13: Away/Away/Away/Away

Game 14: Away/Away/Away/Away

Game 15: Home/Home/Home/Home

Game 16: Away/Away/Away/Away

Won-Lost Record for Week 3 of the 2022-23 NFL season resulted in the home team winning 8 games and losing 8 games. So maybe you should expect that to happen in the 2023-24 season for NFL Week 3.

There were only two games that were a different winner in the order between NFL.com and ESPN.com. The ninth and the tenth game in the 2022-23 season in Week 3.

FootballDB.com was different from ESPN.com and NFL.com for Games 5 through 8. FootballDB.com was different from NFL.com for Games 9 and 10 (just like ESPN.com). Up to this point, NFL.com, ESPN.com and FootballDB.com are all of the same for the first four matchups and the final six matchups of NFL Week 3 in the 2022-23 NFL season.

CBSSports.com is different for games 2, 4 than everyone else, but are the same as NFL.com and ESPN.com in games 5 & 6. CBSSports.com is same as FootballDB.com for games 7 & 8, and they are the same as NFL.com for games 9 and 10.

CBSSports.com is the exact same as NFL.com, ESPN.com and FootballDB.com for games 11 through 16 (as well as games 1 & 3). So they were all the exact same for the only four late afternoon games (the second slate of games on Sunday afternoon). So that is eight matchups where these four different websites are all on the same exact page as to whether the winner is either the home team or the away team! (And seven of those eight matchups everybody is on the same page with the three night games and then the four late afternoon slate of games, not to mention that all four of the teams who won the late afternoon games were the away team)!

A similar thing happened in NFL regular season Week 1 of the 2023-24 season in which the away team won all of the late afternoon Sunday games (and there were five late afternoon games on that September 10th day)!

I have a lot more to say, but this is what I wanted to get published right now on Saturday, September 23rd! (I actually do plan to write more later in this story before the games on Sunday, September 24th. So in other words, please check this story again tomorrow morning for more high quality information)!
