Ogallala defeats Minden in Boys' Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball on Saturday, December 6th, 2025

The Ogallala Indians High School Boys' Varsity basketball team defeated the Minden Whippets on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, by a final score of 74 to 20.
Ogallala's Tanner DeCastro scored a team-high 18 points. He made two three-pointers, three dunks and two free throws.
DeCastro had nine first quarter points. He finished with 16 points in the first half.
Minden's Traelin Christensen scored seven points. He made two three-pointers and also made a free throw.
Ogallala led 16 to 3 with 4:38 left in the first quarter.
The Indians led 36 to 4 after one quarter.
Minden trailed Ogallala after two quarters 56 to 13.
The running clock was in effect for the entire second half in which the game clock only stopped for injuries and timeouts and not for fouls.
Ogallala led 67 to 18 after three quarters.
The Indians won 74 to 20 after four quarters.
For Minden, Landon Bules scored six points. He made four free throws.
Luke Grollmes scored five points. He made three free throws. He scored all of his points in the first two quarters.
Luke Craig made a two-pointer for Minden.
For Ogallala, Sawyer Smith scored 15 points. He made one three-pointer and two free throws. Smith scored 14 points in the first half.
Edan Cain scored 13 points. He made three three-point shots. He scored eight points in the first two quarters.
Rylan Gilmore scored ten points. He made two three-pointers, made two free throws and made one dunk.
Rylan Gilmore scored seven points in the first quarter.
Cy Lowery scored six points. He made two free throws.
Blake Robb scored five points. He made one three-pointer and two free throws.
Lincoln Gillen scored five points. He made one three-pointer. He scored all of his points in the first two quarters.
Rhys Gilmore scored two points.
Minden (1-1) is playing at Lexington tonight on Tuesday, December 9th. The Whippets host Broken Bow on Thursday, December 11th.
Minden also is the home team against Central City next Tuesday, December 16th.
Ogallala (1-0) will play at Chase County on Saturday, December 13th, 2025.
The Indians will then travel to North Platte to play the North Platte St. Patrick's Irish on Tuesday, December 16th.
Ogallala will host their next home game on Friday, December 19th, 2025.
In the Boys' High School Junior Varsity game at the Ogallala Auditorium on Saturday between Minden and Ogallala, the Indians won 70 to 44.
Rhys Gilmore for Ogallala scored a team-high 18 points. He made a three-point basket, seven two-pointers and one free throw.
Cohen Schmidt for Minden scored a team-high 14 points. He made four three-pointers and two free throws.
Minden trailed 8 to 3 with 4:31 to go in the first quarter.
Ogallala led 24 to 10 during another break in the action.
After two quarters, Ogallala led 42 to 23.
The Whippets trailed 45 to 30 with 2:56 left to go in the third quarter.
At the end of three quarters, the Indians led 54 to 31.
Ogallala won 70 to 44 after four quarters and won the game.
For Minden, Bo Lutkemeier scored 12 points. He made two threes and two free throws.
Cole Schwenka scored five points. He made a three-point basket.
Luke Livingston made a three-point basket and totaled three points.
Patrick Clark and Bryson Knott also scored three points each including making a free throw.
Zach Klabunde scored two points.
For Ogallala, Zach Musgrove scored 16 points. He made four three-point shots.
Jacoby Bauer scored 12 points. He made two three-pointers.
Anthony Perrin scored nine points. He made one free throw.
Wiley Krab scored seven points. He made a three-pointer.
Beckan Cain scored six points. He made four free throws.
Easton Knispel scored two points.
