The Ogallala Indians High School Varsity basketball team defeated the Broken Bow Indians 78-35 at the Ogallala Auditorium on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, in Ogallala, Nebraska.
Kyan Tobey scored 12 points for Broken Bow. He made three three-point baskets and three free throws.
Rylan Gilmore scored 25 points for Ogallala. He made seven three-pointers!
That was the second-highest scoring game Rylan Gilmore has had all season long! He has scored 20 or more points in just two Varsity games this season!
To start the game, Sawyer Smith made a two-point basket for Ogallala.
Then, Zach Jackson made a three for Broken Bow.
Tanner DeCastro made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Then, Kyan Tobey made a three-pointer and Broken Bow led 6-4.
Tanner DeCastro made a two and Rylan Gilmore made a three and Ogallala led 9-6.
Kale Kulhanek then made a two-point basket for Broken Bow because of a goaltending by Ogallala's Rylan Gilmore.
Ogallala led at this point 9-8 with 5:07 to go in the first quarter.
Tanner DeCastro then had a dunk for Ogallala.
Zach Jackson then scored two more for Broken Bow and Ogallala led 11-10.
Sawyer Smith then made a two for Ogallala.
Zach Jackson then made a three for Broken Bow and the score was tied at 13!
Sawyer Smith then made a two for Ogallala before Kyan Tobey made two free throws for Broken Bow.
Sawyer Smith then completed a three-point play by making a two-pointer and then making a free throw immediately afterwards.
Rylan Gilmore then made back-to-back twos for Ogallala and they led 22-15 with 1:37 left to go in the first quarter.
Drew Ellis then made a two for Broken Bow.
Rylan Gilmore then made a three for Ogallala while Sawyer Smith made a two-pointer and Ogallala led after one quarter 27-17.
Edan Cain made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Then, Rylan Gilmore made back-to-back three-pointers for Ogallala and they led 35-17 with 5:42 to go in the second quarter!
Rhys Gilmore then made a two for Ogallala.
Kyan Tobey then hit a three for Broken Bow and Ogallala led 37-20.
Tanner DeCastro then made back-to-back two-pointers for Ogallala.
Rylan Gilmore then hit another three and Ogallala led 44-20 with three minutes to go in the second quarter.
Edan Cain then hit a three-pointer for Ogallala.
Sawyer Smith then made two free throws while Tanner DeCastro made a two for Ogallala and they led 51-20 with 1:30 to go in the first half!
Kyan Tobey then only made the second of three free throws (by swishing it) and Broken Bow had 21 points at that point.
Sawyer Smith then made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Kyan Tobey then made a last second "catch and shoot" heave three-pointer on the left side from at about the double "l"'s (in cursive writing) in "Ogallala Auditorium" into the east basket and Broken Bow trailed Ogallala at halftime 53 to 24.
Tobey scored 12 points in the first half for Broken Bow while Zach Jackson scored 8 points.
Rylan Gilmore scored 19 points in the first half for Ogallala while Sawyer Smith scored 15 points, Tanner DeCastro scored 12 points and Edan Cain scored 5 points.
To start the second half, Drew Ellis made a two-pointer for Broken Bow.
Then, Tanner DeCastro and Sawyer Smith each made a two-pointer for Ogallala.
Zach Jackson then made back-to-back free throws for Broken Bow and Ogallala led 57-28.
Rhys Gilmore then made only the first of two free throws and Ogallala led 58-28.
Rylan Gilmore then hit a three for Ogallala while Edan Cain made a two for Ogallala.
Rylan Gilmore then hit another three and Ogallala led 66-28 with 3:18 left in the third quarter.
Sawyer Smith then scored a three for Ogallala. At that point, the 40-point running clock rule was in effect in which the game clock doesn't stop at all (not even for fouls) except for the end of the quarter and for timeouts.
Cash Kleeb then made a three-point basket for Broken Bow.
Edan Cain then made a two for Ogallala while Cash Kleeb made a two for Broken Bow and Ogallala led 71-33 after three quarters.
Rhys Gilmore made only the first of two free throws for Ogallala.
Then, Drew Ellis made a two-pointer for Broken Bow.
Rhys Gilmore made a two-pointer for Ogallala and Edan Cain also made a two and Ogallala led 76-35.
Then, Jacob Fanning made a two-pointer for Ogallala and Ogallala won by a final score of 78-35.

Smith was also honored before the game as being the the all-time leading scorer in Ogallala High School Boys' basketball history.

Broken Bow then plays Centura on the road in Cairo, Nebraska, on Tuesday, February 17th, and then they host Amherst on Saturday, February 20th.
Ogallala is now 18-0 on the season and is the top team in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 48.0556 wild card points as of Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 7:23 p.m. Mountain Time.
Ogallala hosts Holdrege for their regular season home finale on Friday, February 13th, which is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time, one hour earlier than normal. Then, Ogallala travels to Grand Island for a game against Ashland-Greenwood on Saturday, February 14th, at 3:50 p.m. Mountain Time.
Ashland-Greenwood (19-0) is currently ranked second in Class C1 with 47.6842 wild card points.
Cozad (20-2) is ranked third in Class C1 with 45.6818 wild card points (with their only losses this season being to Ogallala) and Auburn (18-1) is ranked fourth in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with 45.5263 wild card points.
Ogallala will then travel to Gering on Tuesday, February 17th, and they will also travel to Gothenburg on Friday, February 20th, for the final game of the regular season.
The C1-12 Subdistrict Tournament (which Ogallala I believe will be hosting) is on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, February 23rd, 24th and 26th.
The District Final is on Saturday, February 28th.
The Boys' High School State Basketball Tournament will be March 11th through March 14th, 2026.

Adrian Gibbons scored 18 points for Broken Bow. He made four three-pointers!
Anthony Perrin scored 20 points for Ogallala. He made two three-pointers and two free throws.
Perrin doubled his top scoring total in a single Junior Varsity home game. His previous high was nine points against Minden on Saturday, December 6th, 2025.
