PBS is out of touch and they don't want you to know who Laura Loomer is
PBS is out of touch because they couldn't take five extra minutes like CBS News reporter Kathryn Watson did.
See for yourself between the two stories.
If PBS had taken five extra minutes they would have gotten the name of the protester at the Twitter Transparency and Accountability hearing on Wednesday.
That protester's name was Laura Loomer.
Kathryn Watson of CBS News wrote down Loomer's name.
The PBS story, written by the Associated Press said that the protester complained about bias and publicly pleaded President Donald Trump to help.
To help with what? PBS could have done a better job of explaining this after the sentence in the paragraph above. Eliminating censorship of conservatives on social media by Big Technology companies like Twitter but also Facebook and YouTube.
PBS wrote about censorship in the lede and in the last paragraph of their story but they didn't really make an effort to explain anything about it. That is shoddy journalism.
Watson's story wasn't much better either. In her opening paragraph she wrote that Loomer was an alt-right protester.
First of all, that's not true. Loomer has said she is a Jew. And she defended the fact that she is not Alt-right in a tweet recently.
Here's a screenshot of the tweet.
If you want to learn more about the Alt-Right just go learn about it, I'm not going to take the time to explain it. And there's many different definitions for being Alt-Right anyway from what I have read.
Also, Watson makes it sound like it's not a big deal when she wrote that Loomer "interrupted a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing about Twitter Wednesday". Like it's just another committee hearing in the House of Representatives and Twitter doesn't have anything to be overly concerned about.
At least Watson though mentioned that Loomer accused Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey of trying to tilt or sway the midterm elections in favor of the Democrats.
Watson also should have made an effort to put the last paragraph of her story higher up within the story. Actually, she probably should have mentioned why there was a hearing and explained that in better detail with some quotes from some prominent conservatives. She also could have given us some quotes of Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey defending his company during the hearing.
PBS couldn't identify Laura Loomer in the lede. Why is that? Because they don't want you to know who she is.
And what if I told you Laura Loomer is a truth teller?
Well she is. It's undeniable if you go see what she has done on social media and on her website: https://www.lauraloomer.us/
People might want to go see her social media pages soon just in case they somehow get erased, deleted or removed from the Internet.
What do you think of Laura Loomer now?
