Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick retired in the offseason and Carson Wentz is now the starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders.
So Taylor Heinicke probably ended up being the biggest loser in the National Football League (or at least the biggest loser of an NFC East team) during the entire NFL offseason meaning that there is a slim chance he is going to get the opportunity he was going to get before Wentz joined the team.
Heinicke knew he was going to be the starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders until Wentz joined the team.
So Heinicke will probably be sitting on the bench for most of the season until Carson Wentz gets benched (or fired) from the team for poor play when the real reason he will probably be benched or fired is because (the last time I researched the topic) he has not received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Sam Howell is a rookie QB out of North Carolina and he likely is not going to have to worry about having to be cut if the Commanders only carry three quarterbacks for the season.
Other than that, not a lot has changed as far as NFC East quarterbacks are concerned.
Dak Prescott is clearly the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys this year and I think it is safe to say that Cooper Rush is the backup QB.
The QB competition between Ben DiNucci and Will Grier is gong to be interesting as DiNucci is entering his third NFL season and he has played in three regular season games in his career (all in 2020), but he only started one of them. He also played in four preseason games last year.
Grier on the other hand has played in two regular season NFL games (and both of those games were starts in 2019) as he is in his fourth year in the NFL. The previous three seasons he has played for the NFC's Carolina Panthers. He played in four preseason games in 2019 and three preseason games last year.
And you cannot penalize Grier for playing fewer preseason games last year than DiNucci as the Cowboys played in the preseason Hall of Fame game last year.
I still think DiNucci has the advantage as the third-string quarterback as he is entering his third season with the Cowboys and he is younger than Grier (despite that fact alone really should not mean anything).
In Philadelphia, Jalen Hurts is the starting QB for the Eagles. He is entering his third season in the league. This is his team, and about the only reason he doesn't play is if he gets hurt.
Gardner Minshew is probably the backup QB to Jalen Hurts.
Minshew has to feel awful that he only got two starts in four regular season games last year as he had 12 starts in 14 games in his first year in the NFL and 8 starts in 9 games in year #2. Now he is in his fourth NFL season this year.
He also got traded after he played in two games in the preseason last year for Jacksonville.
Minshew could fill in for Hurts and the Eagles honestly are stupid if they don't at least use Minshew for a handful of plays during each game.
Reid Sinnett is also another QB who played for Miami in the preseason last year. Philadelphia could use Sinnett if they don't decide to cut him during training camp or in the preseason. Sinnett is in his second-year in the NFL.
Carson Strong, the rookie out of Nevada, is also a QB the Eagles could (and probably will use) if they really need to use him.
Daniel Jones is clearly the starting quarterback for the New York Giants.
I guess Tyrod Taylor could replace him, but Taylor has really only played in three full seasons (and parts of eight other seasons would equal a fourth and fifth season and the start of a sixth season).
Taylor played in 44 regular season games (43 starts) with the Buffalo Bills from 2015 through 2017. He has played in 34 regular season games from 2011 through 2014 and 2018 through 2021. Taylor did not start any regular season games from 2011 through 2014 when he was with the Baltimore Ravens.
Taylor has just 10 regular season starts (20 regular season games) in the last four seasons. Jones played in 11 games and had 11 starts last year!
Jones has 37 regular season starts in 38 games with the New York Giants in three seasons.
Taylor has 53 regular season starts and 78 career regular season games.
So clearly Taylor is more experienced in the NFL.
But Jones is clearly the better bet to make the correct decision when the game is on the line based on recent experience as Taylor keeps getting injured and cannot stay healthy!
Davis Webb is entering his fifth season in the NFL (he didn't play in 2020). Webb played in his first regular season NFL game last year for Buffalo, and in the preseason he has made one start in 13 games. He has yet to throw a pass in an NFL regular season game.
Webb was with the New York Giants in 2017 and 2018 in which he played in a total of six preseason games and he started in a preseason game for the Giants in 2018. He also was with the New York Jets in 2018 and 2019.
So i guess Webb is just hoping someone doesn't steal his third-string quarterback job.
The following is based on a week-by-week analysis of how each NFC East team did against their 2022-2023 regular season National Football League opponents the last time they faced them for each specific situation before the 2022-2023 preseason, regular season and postseason.
The last time for every scenario is only based on previous regular season or postseason games.

So here is a summary of those results:
Last time ever...
Dallas Cowboys (10-7) (Wins Head-to-Head Tiebreaker vs. Philadelphia Eagles)
Philadelphia Eagles (10-7) (Loses Head-to-Head Tiebreaker vs. Dallas Cowboys)
Washington Commanders (5-12)
New York Giants (3-14)
Last time ever at the home team's stadium...
Dallas Cowboys (16-1)
Philadelphia Eagles (11-6)
Washington Commanders (8-9)
New York Giants (7-10)
Last time ever in the regular season...
Dallas Cowboys (10-7) (Wins Head-to-Head Tiebreaker vs. Philadelphia Eagles)
Philadelphia Eagles (10-7) (Loses Head-to-Head Tiebreaker vs. Dallas Cowboys)
Washington Commanders (5-12)
New York Giants (3-14)
Last time ever at in the regular season at the home team's stadium...
Dallas Cowboys (16-1)
Philadelphia Eagles (11-6)
Washington Commanders (8-9)
New York Giants (7-10)
Last time ever (but the last ever game against the same opponent will not be counted twice, the last ever game against the same opponent that is the opposite of the home/road location will be counted the second time)
Dallas Cowboys (10-7)
Philadelphia Eagles (9-8)
Washington Commanders (5-12)
New York Giants (4-13)
So everything is very obvious and if all of these results come true, the Dallas Cowboys will win the NFC East this year, the Philadelphia Eagles should finish in second place in the division, the Washington Commanders third and the New York Giants will finish last in the NFC East.
The winner of this division could be exciting and interesting late in the regular season if the presumed second-string quarterbacks for each team need to play or have to play (because the alternative decisions could be much worse)!
