The McCook Senior Legion Baseball team defeated the Ogallala Adams Bank & Trust Senior Legion Baseball team by a final score of 4-3 in Game 2 on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, at the Ogallala American Legion Field in Ogallala, Nebraska.
McCook was the designated home team in Game 2, with Ogallala being the designated home team in Game 1, which you can read about that story right here on my personal website.
Ogallala scored one run in the third inning and two runs in the sixth inning.
McCook led 2-0 in the second inning, they scored two more runs in the fourth inning and led 4-1 and hung on to win by a final of 4-3.
In the top of the first inning, Tai Le walked for Ogallala while Kale Sattler threw two wild pitches and recorded two strikeouts (one looking and one swinging) for McCook.
In the bottom of the first inning, Ogallala pitcher Tai Le record one strikeout which had to be a 2-3 putout, catcher Keegan Florom to first baseman Preston Runge.
Neither team got the baseball out of the infield in the first inning.
Ogallala had groundouts from Levi Nolt and Jonah Saner in the top of the second inning, while Joey Kupper walked. Kale Sattler had one strikeout in the inning for McCook.
In the bottom of the second inning, Kale Sattler singled to right field. Then, Cole Davidson grounded into a 6-4 fielder's choice, shortstop Jonah Saner to second baseman Luke Minster, in which Sattler was forced out at second base.
Bo Schlegel walked after a wild pitch from Ogallala's Tai Le. Ty Junker also walked for McCook and the bases were loaded at that point.
Cole Block hit a sacrifice fly to right fielder Joey Kupper and McCook led 1-0 as Davidson scored.
With runners on the third base and first base, Tai Le got called for a balk on the pitcher's mound which means Bo Schlegel ended up scoring to give McCook a 2-0 lead. Ty Junker moved to second base on the play.
Jaime Samaniego then officially grounded out to the third baseman Levi Nolt to end the second inning as Nolt didn't catch the line drive hit at him which I ruled as an error.
In the top of the third inning, with one out, Jackson Saner doubled to center field on a line drive.
Saner then stole third base and scored on a throwing error as a result of catcher Cole Block trying to throw Saner out at third base.
Keegan Florom hit a double to left field and Ogallala didn't score again in the inning.
Tai Le kept McCook off the scoreboard in the bottom of the third with two line drive outs to third baseman Levi Nolt and Le got Abe Wilson to fly out to Ogallala right fielder Joey Kupper.
After three innings, McCook led 2-1.
Kale Sattler got Levi Nolt to ground out back to him (the pitcher) and Daniel Dowdy struck out swinging for the second straight at bat.
That was the end of pitching for the game for Sattler.
Bryson Gullion came into pitch at that point.
Joey Kupper and Jonah Saner each walked with two outs in the top of the fourth inning. Preston Runge tried to bunt his way on-base, but catcher Cole Block threw to first baseman Bo Schlegel to complete the third and final out of the fourth inning.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kale Sattler hit a double. Cole Davidson then grounded out to third baseman Levi Nolt and Sattler got to third base.
Bo Schlegel then grounded out to second baseman Luke Minster and Sattler scored and McCook led 3-1 at that point.
Ty Junker got hit by a pitch and advanced to second base on a balk by Tai Le again.
Cole Block then hit an infield single, that advanced to Ty Junker to third base and Junker scored on a throwing error by first baseman Preston Runge and Block advanced to second on the throw to home plate.
McCook led 4 to 1 at that point.
Jaime Samaniego then grounded out to third baseman Levi Nolt to end the inning.
Keegan Florom walked and Luke Minster hit a Texas Leaguer to left field in the top of the fifth inning.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, with one out, Bryson Gullion walked.
Abe Wilson reached base on a fielding error by second baseman Luke Minster and Gullion advanced to third base.
Wilson then stole second base.
Kale Sattler then hit into a ground ball 5-2 tag out at home plate of Bryson Gullion in which it was third baseman Levi Nolt to catcher Keegan Florom.
So Sattler was on first base and Wilson was on third base.
Wilson then decided to steal home I assume when Sattler was trying to steal second base and Ogallala pitcher Tai Le threw to the catcher Keegan Florom to get Ogallala out of the inning with zero runs given up!
In the top of the sixth inning, Daniel Dowdy walked and Joey Kupper singled to left field for Ogallala.
Then, Jonah Saner got hit by a pitch before Preston Runge struck out looking for the first out of the inning.
Tai Le got hit by a pitch and Ogallala scored a run as a result to make it a 4-2 McCook lead.
Jackson Saner then hit a grounder to third, and Kooper Rakes stepped on third base to put out Jonah Saner and then Rakes threw to first base and Jackson was safe at first to keep the inning alive.
Ogallala scored a run on Jackson's grounder as Joey Kupper scored and McCook still led 4 to 3.
Keegan Florom grounded out to the third baseman Kooper Rakes and that was the end of the top of the sixth inning.
After two popouts to start the bottom of the sixth inning, Ty Junker hit an infield single to the third baseman.
Then, Junker stole second base.
After that, Cole Block grounded out third baseman Levi Nolt to first baseman Preston Runge to end the bottom of the sixth inning.
Ogallala 3, McCook 4.

Ogallala is set to host a lot of teams over the next week or so in Legion Baseball.
In Senior Legion Baseball, Ogallala will play Kearney and Chadron on Thursday, June 11th, 2026.
The Junior Legion Baseball team and the "Prep" team (the level before Junior Legion Baseball I guess) will play Kimball and Imperial on Monday, June 15th.
Ogallala will then play Gothenburg in Junior Legion Baseball and "Prep" Baseball on Wednesday, June 17th, with Game 1 (the Prep game) starting at 4:30 p.m. and Game 2 (the Junior Legion game) starting at 6:30 p.m. if two games are actually still going to happen at this point.
Ogallala will then host Gering for a regular Junior Legion and Senior Legion game on Thursday, June 18th.
As of right now, it sounds like Ogallala will be playing Rushville (Sheridan County) on Saturday, June 20th, for a doubleheader, with, I guess, a Junior Legion game and a Senior Legion game, (unless it is going to exclusively be two games for the Juniors exclusively or two games for the Seniors exclusively).
It does not sound like there is going to be a tournament on June 20th in Ogallala but just a couple of games played instead.
For the upcoming road games, Ogallala will play Imperial at 3 p.m. Mountain Time on June 13th for Junior and Senior Legion games.
Then, Ogallala plays a Junior Legion only doubleheader at McCook with game one starting at 1 p.m. Central Time.
Ogallala will be at Sidney at 11 a.m. Mountain Time against Sidney on June 20th for the Prep team (the level below Junior Legion).
Ogallala will then have Junior and Senior Legion games at Holdrege starting at 2 p.m. Central Time on June 21st.
