Ogallala Girls' now 16-2, defeat Chase County in High School Varsity Basketball on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026

The Ogallala Indians High School Girls' Varsity Basketball team defeated the Chase County Longhorns 63-23 at the Chase County High School Gymnasium in Imperial, Nebraska, on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026.


This was a makeup game that was originally supposed to be played on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, but was postponed due to extremely icy road conditions.


Aniston O'Neil scored a team-high 16 points for Ogallala. She made two threes and two free throws.


O'Neil has scored ten or more points in five Varsity games in the actual year of 2026 so far.


Avery Beemer scored a team-high ten points for Chase County. She made two free throws.


To start the game, Laney Caskey scored a two-pointer for Ogallala.


Avery Beemer then made a two-pointer for Chase County.


Shaydyn Rasby then made a two for Ogallala with 4:56 left to go in the first quarter.


Aria McNair then made a three and Chase County led 5-4.


Hayden Shaw then made a three-pointer for Ogallala while Laney Caskey made a two for the Indians.


Aniston O'Neil then made one of two free throws and then Shaydyn Rasby made a two for the Indians and Ogallala led 12-5 with 1:11 to go in the first quarter.


Addison Powell then made a two-pointer for Ogallala and the Indians scored ten straight points to lead 14-5.


Miranda Spady then made the first of two free throws for Chase County and Ogallala led 14-6 at the end of the first quarter.


Aniston O'Neil then made a two and a three-pointer for the Indians and Ogallala led 19-6 with 5:35 to go in the second quarter.


O'Neil then hit another three from the left 45 degree angle before a two-pointer from Shaydyn Rasby from the right side and Ogallala led 24-6.


Aniston O'Neil and Addison Powell each made only the second of two free throws for the Indians and Ogallala led 26-6 late in the second quarter.


Ogallala scored the first 13 points of the second quarter.


Then, Miranda Spady made the first of two free throws for Chase County as the Longhorns trailed 26-7.


Addison Powell then drained a three and Ogallala led 29-7 after two quarters at halftime.


For the impressive scoring totals in the first half, Ogallala's Aniston O'Neil scored ten points, while Shaydyn Rasby and Addison Powell each scored six points for the Indians.


To start the third quarter, Shaydyn Rasby, Laney Caskey and Aniston O'Neil each made two-point baskets and Ogallala led 35-7.


Avery Beemer then made a two for Chase County before Hayden Shaw made a two for Ogallala.


Beemer then made only the second of two free throws for Chase County while Laney Caskey made a two for the Indians and Ogallala led 39-10 with 5:20 to play in the third quarter.


Shaydyn Rasby made a two-pointer and also went to the free throw line but couldn't make the free throw to complete the three-point play for Ogallala.


Aniston O'Neil then made a layup on the left side and the Indians led 43-10.


Alexandria Reeves then made a two-pointer from about the free throw line and Chase County trailed Ogallala 12-43 with 4:07 left in the third quarter.


Anna Aragon then made a two-pointer for Chase County.


Aniston O'Neil then made a two for Ogallala but couldn't make the free throw immediately afterwards to complete the three-point play and the Indians led 45-14.


Avery Beemer then made a two-pointer and also immediately made a free throw after that for Chase County.


Karlie Anderson then made only the second of two free throws for Chase County and they trailed Ogallala 45-18.


Sam Bell then hit a three for Ogallala.


Shaydyn Rasby then made only the second of two free throws for Ogallala.


Alexandria Reeves then made a two-pointer for Chase County and Ogallala led 49-20.


Sadie Flansburg then only made the first of two free throws for Ogallala and after three quarters the Indians led 50-20.


Shaydyn Rasby then made only the second of two free throws for Ogallala again to start the fourth quarter.


Aria McNair made a free throw for Chase County and the Longhorns trailed the Ogallala Indians 51-21.


Rasby again then only made the second of two free throws for the Indians and Ogallala led 52-21 with 6:16 left in the fourth quarter.


Avery Beemer then made a layup on the left side for Chase County.


Addison Slama also made only the second of two free throws for Ogallala while Addison Powell made two straight free throws and Ogallala led 55-23 with 3:48 left in the fourth quarter.


Sam Bell then made a three and two straight two-pointers for the Indians and Ogallala led 62-23.


Haidyn Rapp then made the second of two free throws for Ogallala and the Indians defeat the Chase County Longhorns by a final score of 63-23.


For Ogallala, Shaydyn Rasby scored 13 points. She made five two-pointers and three free throws.


Rasby has scored ten or more points in seven Varsity games in the actual year of 2026 so far.


Sam Bell scored 10 points. She made two three-pointers!


This is the most points Bell has scored in a Varsity game in the actual year of 2026.


Laney Caskey scored eight points. She made four two-pointers.


Caskey has scored exactly eight points in the last three Varsity games.


Addison Powell also scored eight points. She made one three-pointer and three free throws.


Powell has scored in three straight Varsity games.


Hayden Shaw scored five points. She made one three-pointer.


Addison Slama, Sadie Flansburg and Haidyn Rapp each made a free throw and each totaled one point.


For Chase County, Aria McNair and Alexandria Reeves each totaled four points.


McNair made a three-pointer and one free throw. Reeves made two two-point baskets.


Miranda Spady and Anna Aragon each scored two points.


Spady made two free throws while Aragon made a two-pointer.


Karlie Anderson made a free throw and totaled one point.


For Girls' High School Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball, Ogallala travels to McCook on Friday, February 6th.


Then, Broken Bow travels to Ogallala on Saturday, February 7th.


Gothenburg will also pay a visit to Ogallala on Tuesday, February 10th, and Holdrege will also come to Ogallala on Friday, February 13th.


For Chase County, they will travel to North Platte St. Patrick's on Friday, February 6th, for Girls' High School Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball.


Then, the Longhorns will host Gering on Saturday, February 7th.


Chase County will also host Hitchcock County on Tuesday, February 10th, and the Longhorns will also host Maywood/Hayes Center on Friday, February 13th.


Ogallala is currently ranked second in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with a 16-2 won-lost record and 46.2778 wild card points on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, at 1:51 p.m. Mountain Time.


Chase County is currently ranked 38th in Class C1 according to nsaahome.org with a 6-13 won-lost record and 39.31.58 wild card points on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, at 1:51 p.m. Mountain Time.
