Altuve leading the way: How former MVP finalists are doing in the first ten days of June 2018 in the

Jose Altuve is driving in runs. He is also doing damage to the opponents. Right now he is better than Mike Trout, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton for the month of June through ten days in those two categories.

Altuve has scored seven runs, has five RBI's and his OPS is .907. Trout has five runs and three RBI's; Judge has three runs and five RBI's; and Stanton has six runs and five RBI's.

Giancarlo Stanton has four homers, Aaron Judge has three and Jose Altuve and Mike Trout each have one.

Altuve's OPS is better than Trout, Judge and Stanton. Stanton's OPS is .900, Trout is .799 and Judge is .652.

Regardless of the opponent, Altuve is showing that he deserves to be back in the MVP conversation, at least for June.

He has really amped up his damage the past 5 days (June 6th through June 10th).

From June 1st through 5th, Altuve had advanced himself and all baserunners a total of eight bases. From June 6th through the 10th, Altuve has advanced everybody including himself 25 bases.

Altuve has 17 total bases over the past 10 days with 11 singles, a double which scored Alex Bregman from 3rd base and a home run which scored Alex Bregman from 1st base. He also walked three times, once was intentional; he reached on a fielder's choice twice and advanced Alex Bregman on a flyout to right field from 2nd to 3rd base. On one single, Alex Bregman scored from second base and on another single George Springer scored from 3rd base while Alex Bregman advanced to second base from first base. From another single Alex Bregman advanced to 2nd base and once he advanced Alex Bregman by a base on balls.

Stanton has 21 total bases over the past 10 days with three singles, a double and four home runs. He also walked four times and was hit by a pitch in which Gary Sanchez advanced to 2nd base. On one of Stanton's home runs was a two-run homer in which the Brett Gardner scored from 2nd.

Trout has 16 total bases over the past 10 days with 7 singles, and one double, triple and home run each. He also walked three times, once was intentional; and he had two singles in which both baserunners on 1st and 2nd advanced two bases, Shohei Ohtani and Kaleb Cowart scored from 2nd base while Michael Hermosillo and Ian Kinsler moved to 3rd base from 1st base. However, Ian Kinsler advanced to 2nd base and moved to 3rd base on the throw (so Trout is only getting credit for moving Kinsler to 2nd base). Trout also had a groundout which advanced Chris Young to 3rd and Ian Kinsler to 2nd.

Judge has 14 total bases with three home runs and a double. He had a sacrifice fly in which all three baserunners advanced one base; Masahiro Tanaka scored, Gleyber Torres moved to 3rd and Brett Gardner to 2nd. Brett Garder scored from first base on one of Judge's home runs and he also had three walks.

Jose Altuve has advanced all baserunners including himself (not including errors) a total of 33 bases. Giancarlo Stanton has 29 bases, Mike Trout has 28 bases and Aaron Judge has 23 bases.

Stanton has 41 plate appearances, Altuve and Trout each have 38 plate appearances and Judge has 35 plate appearances.

Mike Trout looks better than Giancarlo Stanton right now in terms of advancing himself and all baserunners because he has fewer plate appearances, but Stanton beat Trout by one base when he was where Trout is at now in terms of plate appearances.

Altuve is the leader in RBI contributions meaning anything that will advance a baserunner including himself at least one base. Altuve had 13, Trout had ten, Stanton had seven and Judge had five.

Stanton is actually a better run producer than Trout through the first ten days of June because Stanton was hitting home runs and driving in runners who scored.

Trout, on the other hand, was getting on base (his on-base percentage is .342 through the first ten days in June while Stanton's is .317) and advancing runners but they weren't scoring because of him and he wasn't hitting many home runs.

To me it's pretty clear how these players should be ranked through the first 10 days of June at least from the offensive side of things:

1. Altuve

2. Stanton

3. Trout

4. Judge
