These are the actual won-lost records of Boston Red Sox pitchers during the 2022 regular season through five games. The Boston Red Sox have 2 wins and 3 losses through five games. I wanted to include all Red Sox pitchers, but to get people to actually see this post before the game actually starts on April 13th, during the game, or immediately after the game, I just decided to be more detailed only with the pitchers who played in yesterday's game and also with today's starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi.

Rich Hill did more to actually lose than to win on Tuesday. Based on his Tuesday pitching performance and the fact that he left that game without a lead for his team, his won-lost record should be 0 wins and 1 loss without overthinking this. Technically his won-lost record (depending on the Red Sox win or loss result for each specific game during the regular season) is .481 wins and 0.000 losses. He did do enough for the Red Sox to actually win the game on Tuesday.

Hirokazu Sawamura has done everything right so far in the regular season. His won-lost record should be 2 wins and 0 losses without overthinking this. Technically his won-lost record during the regular season is .074 wins and 0 losses.

Garrett Whitlock has pitched two outstanding games this regular season of 6 1/3 innings pitched. His only mistake was giving up a solo home run to DJ LeMahieu in the season opener on April 8th. Whitlock basically has two wins this season without that mistake. In two games, his actual won-lost record probably should be 1 win and 1 loss without overthinking this. Technically his won-lost record during the regular season is .444 wins and .167 losses.

Wednesday’s starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has pitched 5 innings during the regular season and 4 1/3 innings of that has been objectively scoreless. The people who are less critical of Eovaldi would say that he has pitched 4 2/3 innings (or even 5 innings) of scoreless baseball. So in other words, Eovaldi has not gotten an out yet when an opponent is in the process of scoring a run(s). Without overthinking this, his won-lost record should be 0 wins and 1 loss. He technically has 0 wins and .500 losses this season.

Hill has .481 wins and 1.000 loss this regular season if you want to reward him with a win and a loss whether the Red Sox actually won any one specific game(s) or not. Sawamura has .199 wins and 0 losses, Whitlock has .678 wins and .167 losses and Eovaldi has .500 wins and .500 losses.

Rich Hill is more of a losing pitcher so far this regular season, Hirokazu Sawamura and Garrett Whitlock have won more than they have lost, and Nathan Eovaldi has lost half the time and won the other half.

Wacha .542 wins-.333 losses

Houck .370 wins-.583 losses
